JANUARY 2017
Furnace Woods School is participating in the American Heart Association’s Hoops for Heart program this
year! Students learn how to keep their hearts healthy and reduce heart disease by exercising, eating
healthy and living tobacco free! By partnering with the American Heart Association, our school receives
complimentary PE equipment, lesson plans and heart healthy educational posters. Students raising
donations will be supporting heart disease awareness and research.
Our event will take place February 16-17!

Donations will be collected online only, making it easy for your child to set up a web page, send
emails to support his/her fundraising efforts and share life-saving information. Cash or checks will not
be accepted.
♥ If your company offers a matching gift program, please follow your company’s matching gift
submission directions (i.e. online or print your company’s form, fill it out and give it to Mr. Bruno).
♥ Please collect all online donations and matching gift forms by 3/3/17.

Here’s how=
Step 1: Once you’re registered, log in
to your HQ and click on the E-Card under
Step 2.
Step 2: Choose your character,
background and personalize your card with your own picture
(optional).
Step 3: Take a challenge.
Step 4: Add a personalized message or use the one
provided and send to as many friends and family as possible.
You can also share on social media.

for heart health loud and clear! We’re
asking them to take their own heart
challenge through our Zoo Crew E-Card
and asking them to share that message
with others. When they take the challenge
and send it to 10 people, they will earn
Rory’s Zoo Crew Badge.
