Greetings from Saint Pierre! My name is Deirdre Guillemette and I am currently studying French through Memorial University’s Frecker Program at the Francoforum in Saint Pierre. Last year I began my post secondary studies by enrolling in MUN’s First Year Success Program. This provided me with a great overview on the university, my career options and guidance for my academic goals. I appreciated all the assistance given to me by professors and advisors. It really helped me decide where I wanted to go with my studies and a plan on how to get there! I've visited L’Ile aux Marins and Miquelon, been to the museum, played sports and been on fishing and hiking trips. There are a lot of small stores here but things are often expensive. I live with a host family and with two other students. Speaking French in and out of class time is really beneficial to my goal of teaching French. Thanks First Year Success Program!
