Warm- Up
QOD:
What is it about IMPROV? Why do you think people like it so much? What do you
think could make it better for you?
Bridge/
Transition
Yesterday...
● We examined style. Which was your favorite style to play with?
Today...
● Ask for 4 volunteers. Have them stand at the front of the class. Ask the class for an example of something that is the World’s Worst (i.e. “World’s Worst Blind Date”). Explain to the volunteers that they need to come up with a short sentence and character that fits the description of the World’s Worst
.
Continue asking for suggestions from the class and eventually ask for more volunteers.
Content
Step 1: Ask the students to list the games they’ve played throughout the unit. The list should include: “What are you doing?”, House Party, Pull the Line, Freeze Tag, Worlds Worst, Mafia and Scene Style. Explain that the final for the unit is participating in an improv show in front of each other and invited individuals. Write the title of each game on the board. Explain that the time limit does not allow everyone to participate in every game. Ask for 46 volunteers to participate in each game. If necessary, ask specific students to play in games you know they do well in. If you wish, ask students if they’d like to do lights or sound for the show as well. They are allowed to come up with music between games and do lighting. Step 2: Play each game. Give every student an opportunity to play their game at least once and if time allows, let other students play the game as well. Practicing will help get them ready for their show. Step 3: Make sure students understand that their participation is their grade for this unit. Closure
Today...
● What did we do today? What were we examing?
● Movement/Pantomime/ Character Choice/ Playing off of other’s ideas/Syle
Relevance: Talk about the final for the unit. It is an improv show. They will be graded on participation and not by how well they performed.

TOmorrow is our big performance day!
Justification and Reflection
Justification:
Why was this the best method to use to meet the learning objectives for the day?
Reflection:
What would you have done differently? What were my lessons in terms of procedural and
behavior management? What were the best, most effective parts of the lesson?
