Canby Public Library 2016 Summer Reading Teen Programs Contests and Prizes Every Week! Earn Free Books! For Teens going into grades 6-12 June 13—6:00 pm: Anime Movie Night! Celebrate Summer watching Japanese Anime and eating Japanese snacks. Bring a friend! June 20—6:00 pm: Henna Tattoos! Get awesome henna tattoos with Kelly Welker from Half Moon Henna! These cool designs can last up to two weeks! And hey, henna is NOT just for girls. June 21—6:30 pm: Mindful Eating for Teens and Adults. Feel like you eat a lot of junk? Want to eat healthier? Learn how to pay more attention to what and how you eat. June 29—6:00 pm: Introduction to Yoga. Learn how to keep your mind and body fit with Michelle Dahl from Whole Yoga. Relax and destress! Wear comfy clothes and bring a mat if you have one. July 6—6:00 pm: Game Night! Join us for all kinds of board and table games, role playing games, and coloring. Snacks and music too! July 11—6:00 pm: Maker Night: Tape Painting! Design your own canvas to take home, using paint and masking tape. These are really cool. Bring your creativity! July 18—11:00 am: Kenpo Self-Defense! Learn to be prepared to defend yourself, improve awareness skills, practice basic evasive maneuvers, grab releases, and drills with Canby HS teacher and Kenpo expert, Troy Soles. July 19—6:30 pm: Introduction to Origami. Learn to make fun shapes using the Japanese art of paper folding. This event includes teens, children, and adults. July 25—6:00 pm: Maker Night: Bleached Tees! Make a fun tee shirt using bleach pens. Bring your own design, or try one of ours! You get to keep the shirt! August 1 — 6 pm: Chocolate Olympics! Our lip-smacking wrap-up to the Teen Summer Reading program! How fast can you unwrap a Hershey kiss? How many Oreos can you stack? Are you good at chocolate trivia? Yummy fun for all!
