Hi! *In Math the students have been decomposing fractions using addition and multiplication (4/6 = 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 and 4/6 = 4 X 1/6), modeling fractions with a tape diagram (fraction bar) and starting to find equivalent fractions using the tape diagrams. Next week we will continue learning about equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, and adding and subtracting fractions. *We have had a productive 3 days. As you know we did not do grammar packets, we will next week even though it is a short week. We did several more things with nonfiction. The students are really doing well with it. We also completed a Time For Kids about the inauguration. Those are graded and in the grade book, 2 are in reading and one is in social studies. If there is no grade they have not turned it in and it will become a 0 if not turned in. *In Science the students received their study guides and will have their ecosystems quiz on Wednesday. They have also been reading "How do animals respond to the environment?" and answering questions in the packet and a review paper. Next week we will read "What Happens When Ecosystems Change?" and have our quiz. *In Social Studies we finished the Revolutionary War and are continuing to settle west. *We are going to Playhouse Square on Tuesday, 2/7. (No school on Monday) All chaperones should meet us at Ohio Theatre in Playhouse Square by 9:50am. The show starts at 10am.
