The main purpose of this class is to prepare students to be able to handle taking the advanced courses available the following year. OUTLINE: A. Vocabulary, Grammar and Reading ~ 1. There is also a preset list of common vocabulary words that will be handed out, in addition to the vocabulary lists in each chapter. Vocabulary quizzes are given DAILY. 2. There will be an extensive concentration on the basic points of grammar and verb conjugations with emphasis on areas where Spanish and English conflict, as well as on the finer grammatical points that will contribute to an increased ability to write and speak correctly, with minimal interference from the English language. 3. Students will be assigned homework every night on a range of topics and vocabulary. We will cover short stories and newspaper articles in addition to the readings in the textbook. B.
