Welcome to the 2017 Good Life Calendar of events. This year we have arranged a variety of experiences for
you to travel, learn, explore, meet new friends, and discover new places. The Good Life will be nine years old,
with over 2,700 members. So kick off your shoes, relax, and thank you for trusting us to make your day a little

Day One:
Blue Gate Garden Inn will be your home away from home, so relax for two nights. Step back to a simpler time in the heart of
Indiana’s Amish Country. Upon arrival meet your Step on Guide. Take time to stretch your legs and do a little bit of shopping
and in the evening enjoy visiting an Amish home for a delicious dinner. After dinner return to the Inn for a relaxing evening.
Day Two:
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then it is off to hear about the Amish & Mennonite unique history and way of life. Embark
on a Guided Tour and visit several Amish Cottage Shops. Rise ’n Roll Bakery & Deli will be sure to delight. Enjoy free time for
lunch in Shipshewana and visit Davis Mercantile, along with area shops for Amish goodies and treats.
The MAIN ATTRACTION, CLINT BLACK, is a multi-million selling country mega-star! He is releasing “On Purpose”,
his first full-length album of new songs in a decade, and he’s doing it on his own terms. You will enjoy a delicious dinner at the
Blue Gate Restaurant & Bakery and experience Clint Black in concert at the Blue Gate Theater.
Day Three:
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and depart for a leisurely drive through the country as we head home and remember the songs
we heard from Clint Black and take back memories of Shipshewana.

The Good Life will be on the road traveling to Coshocton, Ohio. Visit the Annin Flag Company for a
tour of the world’s oldest and largest flag manufacturer. Then travel to Newcomerstown for a tour
of the Olde Main Street Museum and Social Center, a replica of an early 1900’s village. Enjoy a full
lunch at the Temperance Tavern Museum, an authentic Tavern and Inn. While you are eating your

Day One … your day begins departing from Lexington, OH and traveling to Louisville, KY. Upon arrival you will enjoy lunch
at the Troll Under the Bridge Pub. After lunch, an adventure through the life and times of Evans Williams for a guided
BOOS and Booze tour with “spirit tasting.” You will step back in time to 1783 and experience life and Bourbon making in
the earlier days. Next you’re visit and stay at The Galt House Hotel which offers a Conservatory with an impressive glassdomed great room. In the evening you’ll will depart for Iroquois Park Amphitheater - home of Jack o’ Lantern Spectacular,
with over 5,000 carved pumpkins along a 1/4 mile walking trail. Each jack-o-lantern is totally different and illuminated at
night as an art show.
Day Two … after a full breakfast, your tour takes you to Louisville Slugger Museum—the official bat of Major League Baseball. You will see bats being created right before your eyes. Don’t miss the world’s largest bat, rising 120 feet in front of the
