ASSIGNMENTS
Ninth through Twelfth Grade, regular classes AND American Literature Honors:
Reading logs for all three books will count as TWO HOMEWORK grades.
Reading log should address your thoughts about what happens in the story, NOT a summary of the
story itself. Consider language choices, characterization, importance of the setting on the
movement of the story, irony or the use of humor. Questions about what you read, and possible
answers to those questions are also acceptable. Each log entry should be about 100 words.
Complete at least five logs per book read.
TWO Tests will be given the first week of school on two of the books you selected.
One essay assignment will be given on the third book.
AP COURSES HAVE SEPARATE READING LISTS
