Speed of a Wave Method 1- is similar to what you did last semester using distance traveled and time Time how long it takes a crest to travel a certain distance Velocity = distance/time Speed of a Wave Method 2- using an idea you figured out when you were very young In order to move faster one thing you needed to do is move your feet faster This is frequency Speed of a Wave Method 2- using an idea you figured out when you were very young Next you realized that the longer your stride was while you were moving your feet faster also made you move faster This is stride length (wavelength) Speed of a Wave Method 2- using an idea you figured out when you were very young The combination of the two result in the velocity Velocity = (frequency)(wavelength)
