Jason McCoy Inc. is please to present “Blaise Reutersward: Atmosphere.”, an exhibition of
eight large-scale diasec prints.
Born in Stockholm, Reutersward lives and works in Paris. As a successful fashion
photographer, he has traveled the world extensively and spent many hours in transit while
in trains, planes and cars. These moments are quieting interludes between hectic work
assignments, and it is this counter-balance to the frequent state of unrest and fast-paced
energy that inspires Reutersward’s fine art photography. Be it nudes, depictions of endless
horizons or an aerial view of Central Park, his compositions share a focus on meditative
simplicity and subtle color nuances. Reutersward refers to his images as “atmospheres,”
distinct environments, which through minimal abstraction are provided with an unusual
sense of mystery.
Blaise Reutersward’s work has been exhibited extensively in Europe and Asia. He is a
frequent contributor to several magazines, including BIG, BON, Dansk, and American,
Australian, French, German and Japanese Vogue, and has worked on such prestigious
advertising campaigns as Hermès, FCUK, Chaumet, Sonia Rykiel, Lancôme, Bergdorf
Goodman and Ann Taylor, Kenzo, Lancaster, Nina Ricci, amongst others. He has directed
several commercial films, for FCUK Sicily Italy, FCUK Amboy America, and San Francisco
America.
This is Reutersward’s first solo exhibition in the United States.
