Love You, Hug You, Read to You!

Dear Caregivers,
Thank you for sharing my newest book with your child. Studies have shown that
talking about what’s happening in a book helps children master pre-reading skills
much faster than if they just sit and listen to a story.
This book will show you how to use the “5W’s” to ask your child questions that
begin with “Who? What? Where? When? Why?” I have written some for you
and you can make up your own. Please let your child turn the pages, point to the
pictures, kiss, hug and chew this book! Have fun reading!
—Tish Rabe
The questions you ask your child will foster all-important learning skills that will
form the foundation of learning how to read and promote a lifelong love of books.
Margie B. Gillis, President, Literacy How, Inc.
Sharing stories with your child is different from anything else that you do together.
Being held and cuddled while being read to will promote your child’s healthy development.
Keep if fun! With your help, your child will soon be ready and eager to learn to read.
