The Catholic Footprint
Services the Church Provides
in District 46
Politics is one of the highest forms of charity
because it seeks the common good. – Pope
Francis
Catholics strive to live up to Pope Francis’ words
by taking seriously our duty to participate in the
public square. We don’t help others because they
are Catholic, but because we are Catholics. For
2,000 years, from Jesus to Mother Teresa, from
St. Francis to Pope Francis, our faith inspires us to
seek a common good.
The Maryland Catholic Conference works in
Annapolis to give a voice to those have none:
the imprisoned, the immigrant, the homeless,
the unemployed, the unborn child, the hungry,
struggling children and families, the elderly, the sick.
This overview provides a snapshot of the
Catholic “footprint” in legislative District 46.
Through our dioceses, parishes, schools,
ministries, charities and individuals, we try to
make our state a place of fairness for all by
providing concrete resources to those in need.
