Located on a 132-acre campus in Weston, Massachusetts, Regis is a Catholic, liberal arts and sciences co-educational institution that empowers women and men to challenge themselves academically, to serve and to lead. Regis has an enrollment of 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students – and growing, is a leader in degree programs in nursing and health sciences, and is greatly expanding its degree offerings to include neuroscience, communications, and biomedical engineering. Regis has 40% diversity in its student population and over 50% of students are the first in their family to attend college. In July 2011, Dr. Antoinette Hays was appointed tenth president of Regis. President Hays is a prominent voice in global health policy, an expert in gerontology, and a passionate advocate for interdisciplinary education in healthcare and the arts and sciences. In the 20-plus years leading up to her appointment as president, Dr. Hays was a leading member of the Regis faculty, and was Dean of the School of Nursing, Science, and Health Professions. Under Dr. Hays’ direction, Regis has undergone a profound transformation from a struggling all-women’s Catholic college into a coed university with aspirations of becoming an institution of national preeminence in health care education. Dr. Hays attracts the attention of the larger Boston community, business leaders in the health sciences industries, and in global health. She is a force, and a great one.
