Teachers could increase the challenge by asking students to categorise what they have written down. To
support students, teachers could give the category titles.

Teachers provide students with a set of random numbers. Students are asked to identify the odd one out,
which numbers link and why? What the numbers relate to depending on ability profile of the student
"T:\Staff Resources\Teaching and Learning resources\TEEP resources\Prepare for Learning\Prepare for
Learning - Random Number.pptx"
Random Words
Teachers give students a list of words and ask students to identify the odd one out and why? To show how
