The Rt. Hon. Sir Declan Morgan
Lord Chief Justice Of Northern Ireland
The Hon. Mr. Justice Frank Clarke
Mr. Justice Frank Clarke was called to the Bar in Ireland in 1973
and became Senior Counsel in 1985. He practised commercial
and public law fields (including constitutional law). Mr. Justice
Clarke was the Chairman of the Council of The Bar of Ireland
from 1993-1995, and served as Chair of the Council of King’s
Inns from 1999 until 2004. He was appointed to the High
Court in November 2004, and appointed to the Supreme
Court in March 2012.
Sir Declan Morgan was educated at Peterhouse, Cambridge.
He was called to the Bar in 1976 and took Silk in 1993. He
was Senior Crown Counsel for Northern Ireland from 2002
until his appointment as a High Court Judge in May 2004. He
was appointed to the Family Division in January 2007 and in
September 2008 became one of two judges with responsibility
for judicial review. Sir Declan was appointed Chairman of the
Law Reform Advisory Commi¤ee for Northern Ireland in 2004.
He was Chairman of the Northern Ireland Law Commission
from April 2007 until his appointment at Lord Chief Justice of
Northern Ireland in July 2009. Sir Declan is also Chairman of
the Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission. He
was made an Honorary Bencher of Middle Temple.
The Hon. Mr. Justice Adrian Colton
Mr Justice [Adrian] Colton was called to the Bar in 1983 and
appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2006. He specialised in high
value personal injury claims acting for both plaintiffs and
defendants as well as being engaged in a significant number
of clinical negligence claims on behalf of plaintiffs. He also was
involved in many trials including cases of murder, manslaughter,
terrorist cases, significant fraud claims and cases of driving
causing death. Mr Justice Colton was Chairman of the Bar
Council from 2009-2011. It was during this term of office that
he established the Advocacy Training Board. He also mentored
a significant number of pupil barristers. From 2013 he was CoChairman of the Forum for Barristers and Advocates within
the International Bar Association.
The Rt. Hon. The Lord Robert Walker of Gestingthorpe
Lord Walker is a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of the
United Kingdom. Lord Walker was made Lord of Appeal in
Ordinary in October 2002, and on 1 October 2009 he was
invested as a Justice of the Supreme Court alongside nine
other Lords of Appeal in Ordinary. Aªer his retirement in
2013, Lord Walker continues to serve as a Non-Permanent
Judge of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal. He is one of
the Patrons of the IATC.
The Hon. Justice Glenn C. Martin
The Hon. Justice Susan Kiefel, A.C.
Glenn Martin was admi¤ed to the Bar in 1979 and took silk
in 1998. He was President of both the Bar Association of
Queensland and the Australian Bar Association and is a Life
Member of both bodies. Before appointment to the Supreme
Court of Queensland in 2007 he was the inaugural Chair of
the Australian Bar Advocacy Training Council.
Justice Kiefel was appointed to the High Court of Australia in
September 2007. At the time of her appointment she was a
judge of the Federal Court of Australia. Justice Kiefel is also
one of the Patrons of the IATC.

Dep. High Court Judge Audrey Campbell-Moffat, S.C.
Timothy Bruinders, S.C.
Audrey Campbell-Moffat is a member of both the Hong Kong
Bar Association and the Bar Association of England and Wales.
She is a founding member and Hon Treasurer of the IATC and
the HKATC. Called in 1987, she currently practices fulltime in
Hong Kong and is a commercial crime specialist. Audrey has
been involved in advocacy training for the last 12 years and
has taught in Hong Kong, England, South Africa, Malaysia,
Singapore and Fiji.
Tim Bruinders was admi¤ed to Johannesburg Bar in 1989, and
appointed Silk 2003. He has been an Acting High Court Judge
since 2004. Tim has been involved in advocacy training at the
Johannesburg Bar since 1998, and is Chair of the Advocacy
Training Commi¤ee of the GCB of South Africa. He is an
Advisor to the IATC.
Andrew Chiew
Philip Aldworth, Q.C.
Andrew Chiew was called to the Bar at Middle Temple in 1997
and admi¤ed as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court
of Malaya in 1998. He focuses on corporate and commercial
litigation, including banking disputes, commercial fraud and
insolvency, in Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill, Malaysia.
He has been an advocacy trainer since 2011 and has conducted
advocacy training throughout Malaysia. Andrew was a member
of the faculty for the Advanced International Advocacy
Training Course at Keble College, Oxford, in September 2015.
Currently Chairman of the Advocacy Training Board of the Bar
of Northern Ireland. Took Silk in 2014. Philip has extensive
experience in civil litigation and has represented a wide range
of public bodies and private clients. He has played a major
role in developing advocacy training for the Bar of Northern
Ireland and has participated in numerous advocacy training
courses in Northern Ireland and in other jurisdictions.
Anna Annandale, S.C.
Russell Coleman, S.C.
Anna Annandale was called to the Durban Bar in 1999, and was
appointed silk in 2011. Prior to joining the Bar, she worked in
Department of Justice as a prosecutor from 1992 to 1995. She
has a wide and varied practice, and has variously appeared in
the Constitutional Court and Supreme Court of Appeal.

Russell Coleman, S.C. is the Chairman of the IATC and HKATC.
He was the Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association in
2009 and 2010, a past President of the Hong Kong Institute of
Arbitrators, Council Member of the Hong Kong International
Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and a Bencher of Inner Temple.

Joseph Mahews
Simon de Quidt
Joe Ma¤hews is of counsel to the Miami, Florida and
Washington, D.C. law firm of Colson Hicks Eidson. He has
been a trial and appellate advocate for 39 years. He is a Fellow
and President of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, a
Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member
of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a member of
the American Law Institute and is an Honorary Bencher of the
Inn of Court of Northern Ireland. In addition to his domestic
trial practice, Mr. Ma¤hews has been an advocate in arbitration
and a neutral arbitrator for more than 25 years. He is a
Chartered Arbitrator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators
and a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators.
Simon de Quidt is a Partner in the UK member firm of Deloi¤e.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985, with another
“Big Four” firm, before joining Arthur Andersen in 1999 and
transferring to Deloi¤e in 2002. His background was in
Corporate Finance, before specialising in Dispute Consulting
from 1991. Since 2000, he has also acted as an “expert” on
around 35 advocacy training courses in the UK, South Africa,
Singapore and Hong Kong. Simon now spends most of his time
in an in-house role, on secondment to the Global umbrella
body, Deloi¤e Touche Tohmatsu Limited, working on Deloi¤e’s
own cross-border contracting with clients, in which role he is
frequently mistaken for a lawyer!
Jeremy Gauntle, S.C.
Jeremy Gaunle¤, S.C. was admi¤ed to the Bar in South Africa
in 1977, and appointed Silk in 1989. He was also admi¤ed to
the Bar in England & Wales in 1994 and is a door tenant at Brick
Court Chambers in London. Jeremy was the Chairman of the
GCB of South Africa for three tems and a Former President of
the Cape Bar Association. He oªen sits as an arbitrator and is
a Bencher of Middle Temple.

Edwin Glasgow, C.B.E., Q.C.
Edwin Glasgow has served as a judge on several prestigious
panels and lectured on law and advocacy around the world.
Edwin is the Former Chairman of the IATC and the ATC
(England & Wales), and is currently an ExCo Member of the
IATC and a member of the International Commi¤ee of the
ATC (England & Wales).

Colin McCaul, Q.C.
Colin McCaul, Q.C. was called to the Bar of England and Wales
in 1978 and took Silk in 2003. He is a Bencher of Gray’s Inn and
is a past Chairman of Advocacy at that Inn. He has taught
advocacy in a number of overseas jurisdictions including India,
Malaysia and South Africa. He is extensively involved in cases
concerning catastrophic injury, including injuries arising in the
fields of medical negligence and product liability. His expertise
in the field of toxic torts is widely recognised. He also sits as
an Arbitrator.

Mark Mulholland, Q.C.
Professor David Ormerod, Q.C. (Honoris Causa)
Mark Mulholland QC is a former Chairman of the Bar Council
of Northern Ireland having been called to the Bar in 1993 before
taking Silk in 2011. Mark is also a member of the Bar of Ireland
and England and Wales (Middle Temple) and works in all three
jurisdictions. He specialises in white collar crime and has been
involved in a number of high profile criminal cases ranging from
bribery and corruption cases, revenue offences as well as nonjury terrorist trials. Mark has been a member of the Advocacy
Training Board for Northern Ireland since inception, has been
a key note speaker at a number of international events and
is due to be inducted to the International Academy of Trial
Lawyers in April this year in Washington.
Professor David Ormerod, Q.C. is Law Commissioner for
England and Wales responsible for Criminal law, Evidence and
Procedure. He is a Barrister and Bencher of Middle Temple
and is on secondment from his post as Professor of Criminal
Justice at University College London.
He practised in the chambers of Max Hill QC, 18 Red Lion
Court, where he is now a door tenant. He is the author of
numerous
articles and books including Smith and Hogan’s
Criminal Law and is the Editor in Chief of Blackstone’s Criminal
Practice and Halsbury’s Law of England (on Criminal Evidence
and Procedure). He lectures regularly for the Judicial College.
In 2013 he was appointed QC (Honoris Causa).
David Nolan, S.C.

Brendan Navin Siva
David Nolan was called to the Bar In 1985 and practiced as
in Dublin for eighteen years, in the areas of Personal Injury,
Insurance, Non-Jury and Commercial Law. He was called to the
Inner Bar in 2003. In 2005, he was elected to the Bar Council,
and has served as Chairman of many Commi¤ees including
the Criminal and State Bar, Internal Relations and External
Relations Commi¤ees. In 2009 he was elected Vice Chairman
of The Bar Council and in 2010 its Hon. Secretary. In 2006 he
was made a Council Member of the Honorable Society of The
Kings Inns and has been a Member of its Education Commi¤ee
since. David has been elected Chairman of The Bar Council
for the year 2012/2013 and 2013/2014.

Brendan Navin Siva is a practicing Advocate & Solicitor of the
High Court of Malaya. He was called to the Malaysian Bar in
1999. Brendan is a B.Ec / LLB graduate of the University of
Sydney, Australia. Brendan was the Chairman of the Kuala
Lumpur Bar Commi¤ee 2011-2012. He was also a member of
the Bar Council, Malaysia from 2009-2012. Brendan has been
an advocacy trainer since 2009 and has been co-ordinating
the Advocacy Training Program in Malaysia since 2009. He is
one of the two Vice Chairmen of the IATC.

Derek Wood, C.B.E. Q.C.

Derek Wood was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1964
and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1978. He has been a
member of Falcon Chambers since 1965. He is a Fellow of the
Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Chartered Arbitrator.
He is a Bencher of the Middle Temple and was Treasurer in
2006. He is a member of the Executive Commi¤ee of the
Advocacy Training Council and chairs its Research and
Development Commi¤ee. Since October 2011 he has been
the Director of Advocacy in the Middle Temple.
