Washington has completed its 1st
cutting Alfalfa harvest. The 2nd cutting
Alfalfa has begun but was put on hold
as growers wait for the rain to pass.

Weather forecasts call for rain
throughout the weekend with clear
skies during the week. We will have a
better idea of how rain has affected
the crop once harvest is complete.

The domestic Alfalfa market remains
strong up and down the West coast.
Weather conditions slowed down
harvest this week as scattered showers
fell across the Pacific Northwest. Some
cut Alfalfa fields received rain.
Timothy
The 1st cutting harvest is nearing
completion in the Kittitas Valley and
Columbia Basin. Some of the later cut
fields received rain this week. Harvest
activities will resume once the fields
have dried out and should be finished
within the next two weeks. We will
continue to watch the situation to
determine what affect this has had on
the quality.
Straw
Fescue Straw harvest in the Willamette
Valley of Oregon has just begun. We
will keep you updated as harvest
progresses.
