Particle Therapy Co-operative Group (PTCOG)
The Executive Committee proposes the following Amendments to the
Steering Committee at PTCOG-54, 5/20/2015:
The Terms of all leadership positions shall be 3 years with the
possibility of one re-election, thus limiting any position to
maximally 2 terms.

Steering Committee at PTCOG-54, 5/20/2015:

Meetings of the Association

8.3 The Host Institution of the Meeting shall be fully responsible for the overall
organization of the Meeting and for financial and other resources needed for
the organization and operation of the Meeting. The program of both, the
educational meeting as well as scientific meeting shall be organized by the
Educational Sub-Committee and the Scientific Program Sub-Committee,
respectively, in coordination with the Host, and approved by the Executive
Committee.

The Executive Committee proposes the following Amendments to the
Steering Committee at PTCOG-54, 5/20/2015:
Article 14
Chairmanship of PTCOG; Term, Duties and Powers
14.1
The Chairmanship of the Association shall be composed of
a Chairperson. In addition two Vice-Chairpersons shall be elected.
Chair and Vice-Chairs shall represent three Continents.
14.5
The term of office for the Chairperson and for the two
Vice-Chairpersons shall be 3 years. Re-appointment for another 3
years shall be possible. The maximum term of the Chairperson and
the two Vice-Chairpersons shall be limited to 2 terms total.

Article 15
Executive Committee, Composition and Term
15.1 The Executive Committee shall consist of:
(a) The Chairperson and the two Vice-Chairpersons of the Steering Committee;
(b) The past Chairperson of the Steering Committee;
(c) The 2 Co-Chairpersons of the Educational Sub-Committee;
(d) The 3 Co-Chairpersons of the Scientific Program Sub-Committee;
(e) One Chairperson of the Publication Sub-Committee
(f) One Representative of the Clinical Sub-Committees appointed by the Executive
Committee to represent the Clinical Sub-Committees;
(g) The Secretary of PTCOG.
15.3 The term of office for each member of the Executive Steering Committee shall be
3 years. Re-appointment for one additional term shall be possible.

The Executive Committee proposes the following Amendments to the
Steering Committee at PTCOG-54, 5/20/2015:
Article 17
Sub-Committees; Composition, Term, Duties and Powers
17.1 Sub-Committees shall be implemented for special activities and tasks, which are of special
and continued interest, in particular a Scientific Program Sub-Committee, an Educational SubCommittee, a Publication Sub-Committee and Clinical Sub-Committees for exchanging
experience in clinical and technical issues.
17.2 Sub-Committees can be proposed by Members by written application to the Executive
Committee. The implementation of a Sub-Committee has to be approved by the Steering
Committee.
17.3 The Sub-Committees are chaired and co-chaired by members proposed by the Executive
Committee and elected by the Steering Committee. All Members of the Association can apply
to the Chairperson of the Sub-Committee to join.
17.4 The term of office for Chairperson and for Co-Chairpersons of the Sub-Committees shall
be 3 years. One Re-appointment for another 3 years shall be possible.

17.5 The Sub-Committees have the following powers and duties:

Purpose: Grants to support young scientists working in particle
therapy to travel to the PTCOG conference
This year 14 (out of 25) applicants from 9 countries got an award
of $ 500 - $ 1’500; $ 18’500 we spend for PTCOG 54;
We need more support from Sponsors for this program!

Travel Fellowship Program
To apply, an applicant must:
• not have received a PTCOG travel fellowship previously
• be at most 5 years beyond his or her highest degree and with at least one-half
a year’s, and at most 3 year’s, experience in particle beam therapy;
• be a member of, or at least loosely affiliated with, an institution which must
either: have, be building, or be in advanced stages of planning, of a medical
particle therapy facility.
• and, whose institution will undertake to cover any additional costs of a fellow’s
attendance at the society’s meeting.
