Detroit area ministers endorse Rick Snyder
DETROIT, MI – More than 30 influential Detroit and area ministers today endorsed Rick Snyder for
governor, citing his focus on jobs, commitment to restoring Michigan’s central cities and promise to
bring an end to the urban-versus-suburban battle that has plagued the state’s political scene for far too
long.
“I am backing Rick Snyder because of his business background and his ability to bring jobs back to our
cities,” said Pastor Joseph Jordan of Corinthian Baptist Church in Hamtramck. “Rick exhibits the kind
of leadership the state desperately needs.”
Pastor Henry Fuller, Jr. of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Flint added: “We are at a
juncture in the nation and state where too many people want to go in different directions and it is
tearing us apart – I think we need the broadest leadership we can get. Rick Snyder is the guy who can
bring people together. I thank the Father for giving Rick the temperament to lead us through these

policy whitepaper available on his campaign website, Snyder proposes a series of reforms aimed at
improving transportation, providing better police protection, supporting the arts and breaking down
barriers to redevelopment. The full plan is available to read or download at www.rickformichigan.com
under the “Plan and Vision” section.
“Young college graduates increasingly want to live and work in big cities – even if only for a short while
before starting a family – and we are losing them to other states,” Snyder said. “Chicago is home to
the largest population of MSU students in the world – imagine how much better off the state would be
if all that talent and energy was here in Michigan,” Snyder said.
At a campaign stop in Detroit, Snyder thanked the ministers for their endorsement and pledged to work
together as partners to Reinvent Michigan.
