Supervision Inthissection,youwilldocumenttheamountoftimethatyouhavespentreceivingsupervision.For thepurposesofthissection,supervisioncanbeprovidedbylicensedpsychologists,licensedallied mentalhealthproviders(e.g.,socialworkers,marriageandfamilytherapists,psychiatrists),and advanceddoctoralstudentswhosesupervisionissupervisedbyalicensedpsychologist.Supervision activityinvolvesaformalevaluativecomponent,andmayincludebothsupervisionreceivedasan individual(i.e.,one-to-one)andwithinagroup.Supervisionthatyouhaveprovidedtolessadvanced studentsshouldnotberecordedinthissection,andmayinsteadbeincludedinthe“Intervention Experience”section. Peersupervision **Manyexcellentpracticumcoursesincorporatebothdidacticandexperientialcomponentsinthecourse activity.Whilethedidacticportionisexcellenttraining,itshouldnotberecordedasasupervisionactivity; itshouldinsteadberecordinthe“SupportActivities”section.Thismaynecessitatedividingthehours spentinapracticumcourseintointervention,supervision,anddidacticactivitiesbyactualcoursehours. Forexample,ifyoupresentonthe“PsychosocialIssuesofHIVInfection”usingexamplesofcases,itisa didacticactivity.Similarly,GrandRoundsthatconsistofin-serviceeducationonspecifictopicswouldnot beconsideredsupervision,butwouldbeconsideredasupportactivity. TreatmentSettings InanothersectionoftheAAPIOnline(“InterventionExperience”),youwillbeaskedtosummarizeyour practicumexperiencebypopulationandtypeofintervention.Inthissection,youwillsummarizethat samepracticumexperiencebythesettinginwhichitoccurred. Youshouldincludeonlythosehoursthatqualifyaspracticumexperienceandinvolveeitherassessment orintervention.“Qualifiedpracticumexperience”isthatwhichhasbeenformallysanctionedbyyour graduateprogram.
