Today is Preschool Sunday and we welcome all of the preschool children, parents and staff.

Our last Kids of Light and Kids Choir for the year will be next Sunday, May 7.

The Martin United Methodist Church will be hosting at 7:00 p.m.
Please mark your calendars: We will have a potluck in honor of our senior high youth
who will be graduating this year. Dinner will follow after the morning service on Sunday,
May 21, at 11:15 a.m. Please bring either a salad or a dessert to share! All are welcome
and encouraged to come and celebrate our graduating youth.
The Long Range Planning Committee has begun to review plans for a possible Narthex
area expansion. More details to be released soon.

The Sound of Music is coming to Martin! Well, actually East Martin...please join the kids of
East Martin Christian in their performance of the Sound of Music on Tuesday, May 2, at
7:00 p.m. and/or Friday, May 5, at 1:00 p.m. And did you know? Our very own Leah
Helder will be playing the role of Maria! You won’t be disappointed!! (eastmartin.org)
You are invited to a Christian Neighbor’s Soup Supper this Wednesday, May 3, at the
Martin United Methodist Church, 969 E. Allegan Street, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Donations to
benefit Christian Neighbor’s Food Pantry.
ATTENTION ALL FISHERMEN:
The Calvinist Cadet Corps is hosting its fifteenth annual
fishing tournament to raise funds to support its ministry – helping boys grow spiritually in all
areas of life. The fishing tournament will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Gun Lake
State Park in southwest Michigan. For more information, call the Corps office at
616-241-5616 ext 4, or check out the Cadet website under the “Events” tab. Everyone is

PRAYER CONCERNS
*** Continue to pray for Sue DeVries as she nears the end of her
treatment series.
*** Pray for comfort for the Schram and Westendorp Families as
they grieve the loss of Marge Machiela.
*** Fred Morley is suffering from extreme back pain due to a
compression fracture. Pray for relief of pain and healing.
*** Pray for Tyler Pols, Jerry and Sally’s grandson, as he is in Army
boot camp.
*** Esther Schaafsma is improving and hopes to go home soon.
*** Jan Triezenberg will have a biopsy on Tuesday for a lump that
doctors have discovered. Pray for a successful procedure and
good results.
*** Pray for our Jr. High Youth and Leaders as they finish up their
retreat today and return home. Pray that the blessings of lessons
learned and friendships made will continue.
*** Continue to pray for MRC moms who are expecting babies this
year.
This Thursday, May 4, is National Day of Prayer.
We will have a Community Service at the Martin United Methodist
Church at 7:00 p.m.
