SUSAN SUPAK WHITE HERON
Inspired by John James Audubon’s The Birds of America, “White Heron” reflects my
devotion to the serene beauty and grounding effect of the splendor of nature. Mirroring Audobon’s intention to paint every bird in America, my collections demonstrate a desire to evoke the
physical and psychological impact inherent in the natural scenes of wildlife and landscapes. The central
theme behind my photography is to develop art as a pathway to connect to intrinsic themes that cannot easily be expressed in words themselves, but are better expressed through the symbolic character of images.
