freedom and exhilaration of soaring in cloud laden skies with the grace and silence of a bird. Windy
City Soaring Association offers Chicagoland residents the opportunity to experience this thrill:
soaring through the air in a modern high performance sailplane.

All our flights include a brief overview of soaring and controls of the
sailplane. When you are buckled in
and ready to go the sailplane will
be connected to the tow plane with
a 200ft. Rope. The Red Tail ride
includes a tow to 3000ft. above
the earth. Your soaring flight will
last approximately 20-25 minutes
depending on weather. It’s an enjoyable introduction to soaring with
plenty of time to get comfortable
and enjoy the thrill. You may even
see a Red Tail Hawk flying alongside you.

Our most popular ride. The Eagle
includes a Mile High Tow to
5280ft. above the Hinckley Countryside and a flight which lasts
about 35-40 minutes depending
on the weather. Allows enough
time to take the controls (under
supervision) and fly the glider
yourself or seek out rising air currents (thermals) to gain altitude
and learn what soaring is all
about. On a clear day you can
even see the Chicago skyline.
The Eagle ride is also the perfect
gift for that special occasion.

learn how to fly then WCSA is the
best place to start. Soaring provides the lowest cost but most exciting form of flight available in
aviation. Our member instructors
will train you through each step to
obtain your goal of a Private Pilots
License. You will have access to
the most modern sailplanes available. As a club member you will
also learn how to maintain the
club fleet and assist to run the operation. WCSA offers the best sailplane fleet, instructors, facilities
and airfield location available in
the Midwest.
