“The more the capacity to concentrate is developed, the more often the profound tranquility in work is achieved, then the clearer will be the manifestation of discipline within the child.” Maria Montessori Dear Garden City Families, It is amazing that I am writing you the last note for 2015! This school year has passed so quickly. All the children are busy these days, and accomplishing so much. Even our youngest and wiliest friends are settling and discovering works that they are able to concentrate on for longer periods. Thanks to all parents who gave donations and helped labor for the Children’s Thanksgiving Feast. It was so beautiful! The kids worked hard to prepare food for this event and loved sitting down together. A New Way to Help this Holiday In recent years we have worked with Paxson Elementary to help families in need during the holidays. This year we want to focus the tradition of giving toward the Farley/Moser family. This is the long time Garden City, family of three, that offered a permanent home to four Moser children last year. Since that time one of their children has been diagnosed with Gorham’s Disease. After months of treatment, she remains in the hospital in Missoula and continues to face complications from the disease. In the entry way you will find a snowflake display. Each one is marked with an item that the Farley’s will find helpfulI. If you are able to fill a snow flake, please sign up below the display. You are welcome to make independent contributions well. WINTER HOLIDAY CELEBRATION We have a wonderful presentation planned for you on Thursday December 17th 1:30 p.m. Please invite family and friends for this celebration. WINTER HOLIDAY HELPERS! Can you help us create holiday projects in the classroom or help prepare food for our celebration? Please see the sign-up sheet on the entry table for details. WINTER IS HERE! We are solidly into the cold weather season so your child needs a warm coat, hat, snow pants, mittens, and boots at school. Remember: we are super tough Montanans! Unless the weather is severe, we’ll be going out. Please be sure your child has all the necessary clothing at school each day. PLEASE WRITE YOUR CHILD’S NAME ON ALL CLOTHING ITEMS. Reminder. . . WINTER HOLIDAY BREAK Monday December 21st - Friday, January 1st There is no school during this time. School will resume on Monday January 4th 2016!
