Member's Handbook Melton Mowbray Saturday Classes Little Springers delivers fundamental gymnastics programmes designed and developed by British Gymnastics to help young children to develop agility, balance, strength and coordination to progress within the sport as well as to develop the skills necessary for other sports, and indeed for life. Please read this handbook carefully, as it provides important information about our classes to ensure you enjoy your time with us. The gymnast’s attendance has been registered ! Class fees are up to date or have been paid to the member of staff taking the register ! The gymnast isn’t wearing loose clothing or jewellery ! Loose hair is tied back ! No food is taken into the sports hall ! Any drinks taken into the sports centre have secure tops/lids ! The gymnast’s shoes are taken off ! On arrival please do not disrupt the class that is finishing, please wait at the side of the hall until notified otherwise by a member of staff During the session: Within the sports hall, there is no designated viewing area for parents/guardians/spectators. We ask that parents/guardians do not stay within the sports centre during the class, this for health and safety reasons, and to ensure the concentration of the gymnasts is held only on the activity itself and the coaches of the session. If it is your child’s first session, we permit parents/ guardians to watch the first 15 minutes of the session to ensure their child has settled into the class and are happy to continue. At the end of the session: Parents/guardians should wait in the reception area of the sports centre. A member of staff will bring the gymnasts out to the parents/guardians of whom the gymnasts are being collected by. Membership and Fees You can just arrive in time for the class and we will provide you with the necessary forms and information. Fees are £21 per month per child (based on £4 per session per week per child, plus a £5 monthly club membership fee.) We do not charge extra for 5 week months but we will close for two weeks at Christmas, and 2 weeks in the Summer TBC). Members will be refunded in the case of an unexpected cancellation of class. Full membership fees are not expected to be paid on your child's first session. A session fee of £4.00 is payable for the first session, which will be refunded if your child does not wish to complete the entire session. Should your child wish to join as a full member after the first session, the difference up to £21.00 will need to be made up at the second session. If joining part way through a month, participants can pay £4.00 per class up until their first full membership month, where £21.00 will be payable on the first class of the month. Also upon joining the club, participants will be required to pay £17 for British Gymnastics Insurance and Membership (annual fee). This fee is collected by the club and then paid to British Gymnastics. Saturday Classes 11.30am-12.30pm (age 5-7 years) 12.30pm-1.30pm (age 8-10 years) 1.30pm-2.30pm (age 11+ years) Policies and Procedures As an affiliated club of British Gymnastics, we adopt the following policies and procedures of the National Governing Body: ! Equality Policy For more information on the above policies and procedures please ask a member of staff or email [email protected] Emergency Procedures: As hirers of King Edward VII Sports Centre, we will inherit the procedures laid out by the Sports Centre. Sports Centre staff will always be on site for the duration of the classes, and should you wish to ask the Sports Centre for key information regarding the venue and it’s procedures in the event of an emergency, please do not hesitate to do so. We want children to have fun while they learn in a safe and secure environment. They should wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move around easily. Shorts and t-shirts are great – just ensure that clothes are not too baggy to become a danger or too tight to be restrictive. Long hair should be tied back and socks and shoes removed. Jewellery or other items that might cause scratching or become caught in materials should be removed.
