the schedule - Knowsley Flower Show

WELCOME
from Christine Yates, Show Secretary
A very warm welcome to all our fabulous exhibitors and visitors in this year’s 19th Knowsley
Flower Show!
2017 is the year we celebrate the “50th anniversary of the Summer of Love - 1967-2017”.
This is Liverpool’s 2017 branding for the city and we are pleased to be part of a season of
events inspired by the golden anniversary of the Summer of Love between May and August.
1967 was the year that Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and All you Need is Love were
released, and to embrace this, visitors will be treated to some live Beatles themed music and will
see lots of colourful “Summer of Love” décor throughout Court Hey Park.
We hope our “50 Summers of Love” themed categories inspire you all to start growing
and entering this year’s show and we particularly invite new exhibitors to ”try their hand” at
gardening as there is lots of help and advice on offer from myself - just give me a call and I will
be happy to talk you through the steps and stages. We have introduced a new Gardening
class aimed at 12-16 year olds to present a vase of flowers themed around 50 Summers of
Love, 1 pot plant and 1 vegetable - again there is plenty of help at hand so please don’t
hesitate to contact me for any advice.
The 3rd Knowsley Feelgood Festival will once again take
place the day before the Flower Show from 1-5pm on
Saturday 5th August. The event will be packed with lots
of health and wellbeing activities and attractions on
the Gladstone field to boost your mind and improve
your wellbeing!
Don’t miss Geraud farmers market also on the Clearing
to tempt us with delicious foods and refreshments.
We look forward to welcoming families to what promises
to be another exciting free event in Knowsley.
