AMENDMENTS TO THE SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
SI Amendment Number 2
9.1 –
Is changed to read ” Marks will be yellow inflatables. Except that Finish Mark may be an Orange
inflatable.”
9.3 –
Is changed to read, “The starting and finishing marks will be the race committee signal boat at the
starboard end and a mark or RC boat at the port end.

13.1 –
Is changed to read, “The finishing line will be between staffs displaying an orange shape on the finishing
marks. Except that when the Finish Mark is an inflatable it will be the course side of the inflatable and the
staff displaying an orange shape on the RC boat.”

SI Amendment Number 1
Preamble to Rule 1 –
The second line of the preamble is changed to read; “[NP] In the SI’s means for the indicated SI that the
infringement is not subject to protest by a competitor. This changes RRS 60.1.”
1 RULES –
The second paragraph is changed to read ” The class rules for the purposes of the definition of rule will be
the International J/22 Class Rules, except under rule 87, rule 4.6 of the class rules is modified to allow
Chartered or Loaned boats to carry national letters or a sail number or both that are in contravention of
the J22 Class Rules. This changes RRS Appendix G and Class Rule 4.6.”
U Flag Rule –
The last sentence is changed to read, “This changes RRS 26, A5, and A11.”
8.1 –
In the first sentence, ”Attachment B” is changed to read, ”Addendum A.”
14 PENALTY SYSTEM –

The first sentence is changed to read, ” In addition to Rule 44.1 a boat that has broken a rule of Part 2 or
Rule 31 may take a penalty after racing but prior to any protest hearing.”
15.1 –
The second paragraph is changed to read, ”Target time for the first boat to finish the race will be 1:15 (one
hour and fifteen minutes). Failure to meet the target time will not be grounds for redress. This changes
Rule 62.1(a).
The fifth paragraph is changed to read, ” Boats failing to finish within 30 minutes after the first boat sails
the course and finishes will be scored Time Limit Expired (TLE) without a hearing. A TLE score shall be two
(2) more points than the number of boats that have finished within the time limit. This changes RRS 35, A4,
A5, and A11.”
25 HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS –
The title is changed to read, ”BERTHING , HAUL-OUT, AND OTHER RESTRICTIONS”
Add to BERTHING , HAUL-OUT, AND OTHER RESTRICTIONS, ”Dehumidifiers, heaters or air conditioners
shall not be used on boats after 09:00 on 22 August 2016.
