Sunny Summer Days
Each week
Morning activities include caring for our school
rabbits, gardening, baking, water and outdoor
play, going to the beach, visiting our farm and
exploring the nearby country park.
Everyday a summer nature story will be told
by the teachers as well as group circle time full
of summer songs and games. Children will
eat their packed lunches together (extended
day) and have a short rest time before
beginning their afternoon activities. These can
include outdoor play, handicrafts, yoga and
dance, to name a few. As the children make
new friends, a warm caring summer family environment will have formed.
10th – 14th July
Colours of the Rainbow
For the first week of our summer school,
children will learn how to tie-dye a
backpack. This tie dye technique is easy
as projects for children. They will enjoy
their own bag to use to pack lunch or other
activities.
Pictures are for reference only.
17th – 21st July
Hear the World
During this week, children will create
music of their own! They will make for
themselves a beautiful drum that they can
take home. This fun activity inspires
creativity not only in the creation of the
instrument, but also the time they will
enjoy spending in playing simple music.
(Note:Please bring your own tin for this craft
Preferably baby milk powder size tin)
24th – 28th July
Bugs and Butterflies
31stJuly – 4th August
Summer Breeze
We will spend a delightful week focused
on creating small animals and habitats,
such as, clay bug houses, wool birds, and
beeswax butterflies, to name a few!
7th – 11th August
Fairies and Gnomes
Spend a week making little fairies and
gnomes, create a fairy home for their little
friends using a variety of natural materials.
Children will take home the fairy at the
end of the week.
Pictures are for reference only.
During this week of crafts, children will
create a wind chime.
The project
includes
sanding
the
wood
(kindergarten class), selecting their
favourite colour beads and threading. We
love decorating our classroom with
homemade wind chimes. Children can
then take home their wind chime at the
end of the week.
14th – 18th August
Hong Kong Culture
During this week children will explore
Hong Kong culture with stories, crafts,
and traditional foods/snacks.
21st – 25th August
Farming
Spend a delightful week making crafts
related to our farm, singing songs about
animals and a visit to Garden House farm
to explore how food is grown. An ideal
way for city children to understand and
connect with where their food comes from.
By learning how a farm works, children
experience the natural world in a new way.
