Imagine a world where furniture is compostable, driving a car is healthy for the
environment, and fabrics clean the polluted ground. Future myth?
Reality according to the German chemist Michael Braungart and the American
architect William McDonough. Contrary to Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth,’
their message is hopeful: remake things in such a way, that they are
biodegradable and contain nutrients for nature. Just like nature itself – a closed
system where ‘waste’ serves as food. Think of a cherry pip…
The revolutionary ideas of McDonough and Braungart are not only good for the
environment, but also very profitable! Large companies like Nike, Ford and
Unilever already ‘produce’ them! The symposium will be both about this profit
and ecological motive.

environmental problems afterwards – but without losing sight of
profitability? With: dr. Leo Baas, dr. ir. Gijsbert Korevaar, dr. Gail
