1. The Fall Festival is Coming! -- Save the date for the Tavelli Fall Festival on Friday October 28th from 6-8pm.
We are in need of candy donations for this fun evening. Please send unopened bags of candy to the office. Per
Health Department regulations, we cannot accept any home-made treats. We need 30 people (only 4% of the
Tavelli Community) to make the Fall Festival happen. This free event for our families relies on the help of
people like you. Please visit this link today and volunteer for one hour so we can host this awesome party. Fall

2. 5th Grade Musical Coming up Next Month – Tavelli’s 5th Graders invite you to their STEAM Encore
Performance, Musical Science Jeopardy, November 15th and 16th here at Tavelli. The performances for our school
population will be at 10:00 Tuesday, November 15 and Wednesday, November 16. The Tavelli Community is
invited Wednesday, November 16 at 6:00 p.m.
3. Musical Themes and Sound Effects -- Students in kindergarten through fourth grades are learning how sound
effects and themes make movies and cartoons come alive. In the next round of lessons, they will be creating their
own sound effects and themes to accompany some of the chants they have been learning, based on their own
preferences and grade-specific music concepts. As you watch videos at home, encourage your young music maker to
listen to what they are hearing and use words to describe what is making the sound.
4. Congrats, Tavelli, the King Soopers Cards are Working! -- We just received a check for more than $600, just
by you doing the shopping you already do! Don't stop the momentum now- keep loading, and reloading, and help us
hit our goal of $2000 this year! If you don't have yours yet, $5 pre-loaded gift cards are on sale in the front office for,
of course, $5. For more information on this easy peasey money maker for our school, please contact

5. RUNNING CLUB IS FULL! With over 200 students enrolled, our Tavelli Running Club is currently full. If you would like
your child to be put on the waiting list, please email us at [email protected]. Thanks so much for helping make
Running Club such a success!
6. Halloween Costumes At School – Because we will celebrate Halloween here at Tavelli during our Fall Festival,
there are no Halloween Parties in classrooms. Children should wear their costumes to the Carnival, not during the
school day.
7. Picture Retakes – Skillman Studios will return to Tavelli Wednesday, October 26 at 10:00 a.m. to take pictures
of all those students who were absent on the original photo day or who are new to Tavelli. If you had a picture taken
but didn’t purchase a package, you may have a new picture taken and purchase a package. If you already purchased
a package and want a retake, you must return the original package in full with the reason for a retake clearly stated
on the package. Please refer to the guidelines on the back of the package as to what justifies a retake. Order forms
for new packages are available in the Tavelli office.
8. Lost and Found is Leaving the Building – Once again, our lost and found boxes are filled up. If your child has
lost a jacket, coat, scarf, water bottle or any other personal item that went to school and hasn’t returned, please come
check our boxes in the block area. We will be bagging up any unclaimed, unmarked articles and donating them at
the end of the month. To make sure your child’s articles are returned to them, please mark them with their names.
9. PSD’S Turkey Round-up is Coming! – Once again, Poudre School District is sponsoring a frozen turkey drive to benefit the
Food Bank of Larimer County. Please consider donating a turkey so that the less fortunate in our community can celebrate the
Thanksgiving Holiday with all the fixins. Frozen turkeys can be dropped off at Tavelli by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday,
November 16th. Tavelli staff will be on hand to collect turkeys in the office, or in our back drop off area. Thank you for your
generosity!
10. Scholastic Book Fair – The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the Tavelli Media Center the week of October
31-November 4. Hours will be 8:30-9:30 a.m. and 12:30-5:30 p.m.. Monday-Wednesday, 8:30-9:30 a.m. and
12:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. and 12:30-5:00 p.m. on Friday. Please make sure to stop by the
Media Center and check out the great selection of books available. Books make great gifts!
11. News From Our Nurse -- There is a NEW immunization exemption process beginning the 2016-17 school
year. Details on the options for and frequency of submitting exemptions are now available
at www.colorado.gov/vaccineexemption. Personal exemptions are needed annually beginning this school year.
Medical exemptions completed online by a health care provider only needs to be done once.
12. Check Your Student’s Lunch Account – If your student is purchasing hot lunch, please make sure to check
the lunch balance periodically. This can be done on the website,
www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/login/getmain?requestAction=home. Payments can be made online with a credit
card.
