Weight Loss Challenge!
The next challenge for TEAMWELLNESS will be a Weight
Loss contest. It will officially
be a 3 month long event, October thru December but we hope
that you will develop new
healthy habits that you will
continue with into the new year.
No need for weight loss to be
your 2014 New Year resolution! We want this to be a lifestyle change, not just a shortterm, unhealthy starve yourself
for a month diet. That is one
reason it will be a longer challenge so it can be healthy and
permanent weight loss. We are
still deciding how to organize it
and would love to hear your
ideas. Would you like it to be
and individual where you let us
know your goal and there is no
competition with others? Do
you think teams would be fun?
Camp against camp? If you plan
on participating ask yourself these

Like Cindy said, “the prize will
be worth every pound lost!!”.

10,000 steps a day>Stretch for 10 minutes twice a day.
This month think about what your
goals are for weight loss and over all
wellness. What tools will help you
reach your goals? What is your plan?
Each of us will have different
goals for some it is to lose
pounds, for some it is inches. If
you are already content with your
weight you may want to use this
challenge as a time to focus on
diet and exercise to increase your
energy or to reduce your risk of
heart disease.
All of the challenges that TEAMWELLNESS has presented so far
combined together will contribute
to weight loss: Write in your Food
Self Improvement in September!!
Labor Day is the last long weekend
celebration of the Summer. School
has started back up, Fall is in the air
and it is a perfect time for you to do
something to improve yourself.
It can be as simple as reading a book
about something new you have
wanted to learn about or taking a
LOG ON!
class. September is Yoga month so
you may consider taking your first
Yoga class at a studio, or search
YouTube for a Yoga work out that
inspires you. Or perhaps you could
try learning that new craft you have
been interested in trying like knitting or crocheting. The options are
endless and you will feel good try-
ing out something new!
September is also a good time to reflect
back on goals you may have set for
yourself back in January. It is a good
time to check in with yourself and see
where you are at and what you can still
do to reach those goals by the end of
the year.

TEAMWELLNESS is a program based on the honor system. It is up to you to keep track of the monthly challenges and
report them to TEAMWELLNESS in order to earn your award. Your new food journal is a great place to do this. If you
miss a step along the way, it’s OK, start again tomorrow. Don’t give up or quit because of one bad day or even a bad
week . The challenges we are presenting are to assist you in making lifestyle changes and they won’t happen overnight.

Bill Campbell’s INTERESTING Bio Metric Screening Story
We would like to share Bill
Campbells Bio Metric Screening
story.
In June, Bill completed a home
biometric screening kit when
TEAMWELLNESS held our biometric screening event in North
Dakota. The test results he received at home through the mail
alerted him that his triglycerides
are high. Triglycerides are fat in
the blood and are used to provide
energy to the body. Bill was not
happy to receive this news but
knows it is important information
because having a high level of
triglycerides can increase your
risk of heart disease and he now
knows it is something he needs to
work on lowering.

interesting! Bill turned 50 in May
and that had prompted him to schedule a check-up with his doctor. At
this appointment his doctor performed a blood panel test similar to
that of the home test kit so he was
not shocked when he received the
same results back from his doctor!
The TEAMWELLNESS home test
kit had given him the same results a
couple of weeks earlier.
“If I had not had my 50th birthday to
prompt me to make the appointment,
doing the wellness testing would
have told me about my triglycerides!
As it was, the wellness testing results came in about a week before
my appointment. Again, it was confirmed by the testing done by my
doctor.” Bill reiterated.
We are so happy to share this positive and possibly life changing experience for one of our TEAMWELLNESS members. The screening kits are available to you all at no
cost and all results are completely
confidential and mailed directly to
you.

his story! Because of the results he
received he will now try and lower
his triglycerides with changes in his
diet and exercise. If he can do this
on his own he will avoid having to
take medication.
