The 2011/2012 Executives Where did the year go? I can’t believe the semester is over and summer is here (well, not summer weather, but hopefully that will show up soon). In this issue, the last issue of Between the Lines 2010-2011, you’ll get to meet your UTMAS executive for next year. They have a ton of ideas to make this coming year the best ever for UTMAS, and so I really hope that every one of you will get involved! I hope you’ll all join me in congratulating everyone on their election wins! On a personal note, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who helped to make UTMAS such a success this year. From movie nights to a meet and greet to the undergraduate symposium in March, it was great meeting all of you at our events. Please continue to come out and get involved next year, you’re the reason that UTMAS exists! Without further ado, I’m going to turn the rest of the issue over to the new executive, I know they won’t disappoint! I’m graduating and will be doing a Master of Arts in bioarchaeology at the University of Western Ontario in the fall, but you may see me visit for some of the awesome Anthro events next year! My name is Angel McRae and I am very excited to be your senior representative for the UTM anthropology society. I am currently finishing up my Biological Anthropology specialist degree. My academic interests include forensic anthropology, radiology, primatology and paleopathology. One of my greatest enjoyments throughout my four years at UTM was the forensic anthropology field school, it was a great experience and I suggest anyone interested in this field look into taking the course! I think it is fantastic that the 2010-2011 executive council has brought back the anthropology society with such high standards and I will do my best to keep this society running and promote the anthropology discipline! I’m really excited to be the Junior Representative for the UTMAS for the coming year because I feel like it’s a great way to get involved with the community here at UTM. Also, I think that it will be a great way for me to make new friendships that will hopefully last for a long time. I currently live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but I am Canadian. What I like to do in my free time is play video games, watch TV, hang out with my friends and family, and riding horses. I can’t wait to get started and I’m really looking forward not only to what this year has in store for me, but also what it has in store for the rest of the society.
