“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the
political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the
earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a
decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel
them to separation” Just in case anyone has forgotten what the reason we have July 4 off, that was the
introduction to the Declaration of Independence. Give it a read, share it with your children and remind
them we have these freedoms today, because of what was started some 240 years ago.
Kenilworth’s Fireworks celebration will be on July 3, with a rain date of July 10. We plan of having a
parade earlier and will have a whole host of things to do before the fireworks start. Check in with

I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the groups and individuals who are stepping up and
volunteering to do some cleanup events like the Boy Scouts and the Girls Scouts as well as people like
Jack Fiamingo who have taken initiative to cleanup one of our historic signs located at Boulevard and
Michigan Ave. Every little bit helps, and I thank everyone for doing their part in keeping Kenilworth a
great town to live and work in.
