Dear Parents/Guardians,
We have had a wonderful start to the school year. The students are working hard and we have
the most dedicated staff in the entire district!! I will send this parent information bulletin out
each Friday to help keep you informed. We are going to have a great year! Thank you for all
your support. I hope you have a great weekend!! !
WHAT WE HAVE GOING ON!!
Bouncy Houses: The family resource center of Lewisburg and Lewisburg School bought two
bouncy houses for our students. The students can earn a bouncy party by excelling in behavior,
attendance, and/or academics. The older students can earn a Slip-N-Slide party
which works the same as the bouncy party. We want to work hard, but have fun
and reward good effort.
Literacy Program: We are starting a family literacy program. This program will
give parents strategies to help improve their child’s reading ability. Additionally, if the parent
needs help reading the program will address adult literacy. The meeting dates and times will be
sent out in a few weeks. There will be great food, so we hope to see you there.
Pizza with the Principals: The response to this event has been tremendous. The event will start
at 5:30pm on Monday the 22nd. We will have pizza and I will be giving my
vision for Lewisburg School. Please plan to join us. A flier is attached. Thank
you Melanie for getting this together!
NED Show: This is a program about being resilient and giving your best effort. It will be for our
(K-5) students on August 24th and it fits perfectly with our Leader In Me curriculum. I think the
students will be very entertained.
Youth Alert Bully Prevention: This program will take place on September 7th. The middle
school students will learn the definition of bullying and the danger associated with bullying.
Mentoring Program: This program will start in September and focus on helping our most atrisk students. The teachers have identified the students who could benefit from a mentor and
those students will be assigned a staff mentor. The staff member will be an advocate for the
child and help guide them into making good decisions.
Building Aesthetics: We are focused on giving Lewisburg a new look!! Over the next year,
hopefully, you will see some new and exciting changes as you visit our school.
Technology: We would love to be the first school in the district to get 1:1
technology. This means every student would have their own I-pad in the
classroom. This is an ambitious plan, but I think we can do it! It may take a
few years, but it is part of our vision here at Lewisburg.
Activity Policy: We have a new activity policy approved by the SBDM. It basically requires
students to behave, work hard in the classroom, and attend school. A copy of the policy is
attached.
