of Helsinki, revel in the architecture of Stockholm and its
magnificent City Hall, admire the relics of Norway’s great
seafaring past in Oslo, and feel like a kid again at
Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens. Enjoy the beauty of
Norway’s fjords as we cruise Sognefjord plus the rocky
cliffs and waterfalls as we ride the famous Flam Railway.

Finland’s capital city.

Helsinki, Finland
On arrival in Helsinki we will be met and taken to our hotel.

July 19, Wednesday
Helsinki / Porvoo
Our morning will be spent exploring the capital’s landmarks
such as its colourful market, Senate Square, the Cathedral,
the Sibelius Monument and the famous Rock Church.
Following lunch in Porvoo, we will explore this medieval
city, with historic buildings, gracious parklands, and a
beautiful waterfront. Highlights include the Cathedral and
the Old Town with its lovely buildings.

July 20, Thursday
Turku / Overnight Ferry
After breakfast we drive to the port city of Turku, the oldest
city in Finland (dating from 1220) and its first capital. Today
while less important politically it is a very lively centre noted
for its Cathedral (Circa 1300), university, Turku Castle,
walks by the Aura River, the Market Square, Forum
Marinum and more. Late this afternoon we will embark on
our massive ferry and sail overnight to Stockholm.

July 21, Friday
Stockholm, Sweden
Rise early and enjoy breakfast as we cruise through the
Stockholm Archipelago (with well over 1000 islands) into
the city. Debarking we are taken on our guided city tour,
featuring the magnificent City Hall with its incredible golden
hall covered in mosaics (pictured below) depicting Swedish
legends, the Vasa Museum (containing the salvaged
remains of the nation’s largest war ship) and Gamla Stan,
the Old Town with cobbled streets, charming squares,
medieval buildings, the cathedral and Royal Palace.

July 22, Saturday
Stockholm
This morning we continue our tour of Stockholm taking in
more of its important sites. After lunch we shall experience
a true highlight with a tour of Drottningholm Palace. This
UNESCO World Heritage Site is a very well preserved
example of European Baroque Architecture from the
1600’s. After the tour we board a short cruise taking us
back to the city centre, where we enjoy a lunch and free
time at the Skansen open air museum.

Stockholm / Oslo, Norway
Departing Stockholm we enjoy a scenic drive past open
farmlands, dense forests and sparkling lakes making a stop
in the sunny city of Karlstad on the shores of Lake Vänern.

Oslo
Our day in Oslo will be dedicated to discovering its many
charms including the Royal Palace, Opera House and it’s
many museums. This day also features Norway’s maritime
history: the Viking Ship Museum exhibiting the world’s best
preserved Viking Ship, the Fram Museum covering the
Norwegian polar explorations, and the Kon-Tiki Museum
which is home to Thor Heyerdahl’s balsawood raft used to
sail across the Pacific.

July 25, Tuesday
Oslo / Bergen
This morning we depart for the west coast city of Bergen.
En route we pass through the beautiful Hardangervidda
National Park above the tree line. Then by the Hardanger
Fjord with its romantic landscape of fruit orchards and
rounded mountains, before making a stop at the impressive
Vøringsfossen Waterfall which has a vertical drop of 182

July 26, Wednesday
Bergen
Our exploration of Bergen will take us to the famous open
air fish market and through Bryggen where the traditional
wooden medieval buildings still remain as they did during
the time of the Hanseatic league. After we will take the
funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen for a stunning view of
Bergen and lunch. The afternoon is at leisure to wander,
relax, or shop.

Bergen / Stalheim
Breathtaking mountain scenery awaits us today as we
make our way first to the Fantoft Stave Church. Made
without nails, Norway's stave churches are iconic cultural
sites. Passing by the dramatic scenery of Norway’s fjords
we stop at our hotel for dinner and overnight.

July 28, Friday
Flam Railway / Sognefjord / Geilo
Continue to beautiful Flam where we will take a delightful
cruise of the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in
the world. Marvel as we cruise into Nærøyfjord (another
UNESCO Site) with its small farms scattered on the steep
hills, cascading waterfalls and towering peaks. At
Gudvangen we drive up to Stalheim over 13 hairpin turns,
viewing the Sivle waterfalls. We take the Flamsbana, the
most beautiful train journey in the world, with breathtaking
views at every curve as we make our way to Geilo
experiencing one of the steepest rail lines in the world. At
Myrdal we change trains before continuing our rail journey.

Oslo / Copenhagen, Denmark
We make our way back to Oslo for a chance to see the City
Hall and Frogner Park, which features Gustav Vigeland’s

easy, this journey features some long travel days,
overnight ferry rides and a number of walks over uneven
ground (often including steps). As with a journey of this
type, members should be physically active to fully enjoy

Copenhagen
Enjoy a buffet breakfast as we sail into Copenhagen. Upon
arrival in the Danish’s capital we head off to experience
many of the city’s highlights: the Little Mermaid, the Gefion
Fountain, the royal residence Amalienborg Palace,
Christianshavn and Nyhavn where we will have lunch by
the canal. A highlight of the day will be a canal cruise
through and around the city's bustling harbour. Balance of

Copenhagen
This morning we shall visit one of the city’s best known
attractions: Tivoli Gardens. Opened in 1843, it is the
second oldest amusement park in the world. Next is the
“Carlsberg Exbeerience”, where we visit the brewery and
learn about one of the world’s most popular beers. Enjoy a
free afternoon (be sure to explore the Strøget shopping
street) followed by our dinner at Bryggeriet Apollo.

date, premiums will range from $280 to $348 pp plus
