REGULATIONS
OF
KTU STAFF Basketball tournament – 2017
Goals and Objectives:
1. To promote a healthy lifestyle and meaningful leisure activities;
2. To promote communication and cooperation between KTU staff;
3. To determine the strongest participating basketball team of the university’s departments.
Event:
1. The competition is held by the Sports Centre;
2. The tournament entry fee is 60 EUR for a team.

Location and time:
1. The tournament begins on January 20, 2017;
2. The competition will be held at the Sports hall of KTU Faculty of Chemical Technology
(Radvilėnų. 19, Kaunas).
Participants:
1. The competition is open only for KTU staff and PhD students working at the university’s
departments;
2. Teams can register 12 players;
3. Teams can be mixed (men and women);
4. Teams must have a neat basketball outfit (clearly visible numbers, all of the team players
must wear outfits of the same colour).
Competition enforcement order:
1. 10 minutes before the start of the match. the captain or leader of each team must
submit a list of players who will play in the match and indicate their apparel numbers;
2. Match duration – 4 quarters of 10 minutes (no time stop). Time will be stopped only
in the last 2 minutes of fourth quarter ;
3. Long break between second and third quarters – 5 min. Warm-up before the game 10 minutes;
4. Team can take a 1 minute timeout during each quarter and overtime;
5. If overtime is needed: the game is extended for 2 minutes;
6. The competition is scheduled on Fridays (January - February). The match of the day
starts at 3.00 p.m. The second match of the day – at 4.00 p.m.
7. Competition System depends on the number of participating teams.
Team registration:
Team application must contain the following data:
1. Player’s apparel number, name and surname;
2. Full date of birth (year-month-day);
3. Workplace;
4. Team Leader’s contact phone number and email;
5. Outfit colour;
6. A list of team members with their signatures to confirm that they underwent medical
examination and can participate in the basketball tournament.
Applications for participation in the championship and copy of the bank transfer must be
emailed to [email protected]
Registration begins on January 9, 2017 and lasts until January 16. The organisers reserve
the right to extend or suspend the registration if 8 teams-participants are registered before the
deadline.
Rewards:
The winners will be awarded prizes and diplomas. A special prize will be given to the best
player in the tournament.
