FALL’S FEATURED ANIMAL ADVENTURE HOURS!
These lessons provide students with minds-on, hands-on experiences including interactions with exceptional books,
participation in unique games and activities, viewing and touching mounted specimens and listening to animal
voices. We close with the sharing of a simple craft !
ANIMALS OF THE NIGHT
Nocturnal animals live all around us. Specially adapted to wander, and hunt during the
night, we often do not see them. Introduces students to local animals - the skunk, bat,
and fox who are busiest at night!
Fee: $7.50 at the Conservancy ($75 minimum per class) or, we can also come to you!
$8.50 at your site ($85 minimum per class), $10 per class Travel & Transportation Fee
FEATHERED FRIENDS
Special adaptations help them float, fly, catch their prey, and raise their young. Together
we learn about a variety of species, many found in our own backyards! A wonderful
introduction to this very visible animal group!

DYNAMIC DINOSAURS
Apatasaurus, Stegosaurus, Diplodocus ... so many dinosaurs with such long names!
Dinosaur behavior and habitat take center stage as we examine life-like models, and a
fossil footprint which was made 250 million years ago!

ANIMALS OF THE NORTH AND SOUTH POLES
Where are the poles? A bit of geography and geology are carefully woven into this lesson
as we introduce the residents of the Arctic and Antarctic regions. We’ll take a look at how
they survive the extreme conditions found at the top and bottom of the Earth.

ANIMAL HOMES AND HABITATS
A good habitat is one in which an animal can meet its needs for survival. Some choose
underground dwellings, while others prefer “tree houses”! Explore various locations of
“Animal Real Estate” to learn which home and habitat best suits each animal!

Featuring content-rich, one-hour programs for classes of up to 24 children! Sprinkled among some of the very best children's
literature are engaging listening games, and original activities. Programs include items from our natural history collection
(bones, fur, eggs, skins, nests, etc.) Construction of a simple craft completes our time together! When held at the
Conservancy, fee includes use of the Children's Discovery Room and picnic facilities.

FALL FUN for Pre-Schoolers!
Sight vibrant fall colors, listen to seasonal sounds, experience fall's crisp touch, and discover
spicy smells! Each student will delight in the natural treasures of this remarkable season!

FALL MYSTERIES for Kindergarteners!
Students search for clues to uncover the secrets of “Danny Deer’s Fall Mysteries.”
What are those squirrels doing? Why do some birds fly south? What treasures do
wildflowers leave behind? Your eager investigators marvel at all that is fall!
Fee: $7.50 per student ($75 minimum fee) Includes use of Children’s Discovery Room & Picnic Area
WINTER WONDERS for Pre-Schoolers!
Active, active, active adventure that weaves carefully chosen children's literature with a variety
of movement activities, games, songs, and concludes with a simple craft for everyone! A fifty
minute program for classes of up to 24 students.
Fee: $7.50 per student at the Conservancy ($75 min.)
Includes use of Children’s Discovery Room & Picnic Area
$8.50 at your site for up to 24 students ($85 min.)

WINTER SECRETS for Kindergarteners!
Winter survival secrets of local animals revealed! Based on a gentle legend about Mother Nature,
students learn through poetry, song, and movement activities. Includes a surprise ending! Preand post-trip activities included. An hour-long program for classes of up to 24 students.

“Everybody Active All The Time”
“Everybody Active All The Time!” That’s our motto! Each activity is carefully
designed to allow your students to participate in hands-on, minds-on
experiences. Explorations and demonstrations incorporate large motor
movement and fine motor skills to ensure focused energy, excitement and
enthusiasm!
Award-Winning Environmental Education Staff
PWC’s degreed environmental education teaching staff have accumulated over
100 years of experience teaching “in the field.” Each professional possesses a
broad science and natural history background, and a wealth of interpretive
techniques.

Environmental Education Staff. You will appreciate our attention to detail in
each carefully crafted activity. Pre-trip and post-trip activities further your
students’ understanding.

facilities, Children’s Discovery Room, trails and fields. Picnic facilities are also
available following your learning adventure.

What are my Payment Options?
Payment is due in full the day of the program. The Conservancy accepts cash,
checks, and credit cards. The Conservancy cannot provide refunds in the event
that a school overpays for students who are absent the day of the program.
