TEAM SELECTIONS – Thank you to all the parents/guardians for getting the girls to Team Selections during February. We understand it is always a busy time and can be quite daunting. Our selection coordinators work extremely hard during this time to make the process fair and transparent for everyone. We would like to acknowledge their massive efforts along with those of selectors, umpires and extended committee who helped along the way and to our registrar and treasurer for ensuring registration and payment ran smoothly. Mark is sports mad and ensures our service is directed at sport and fun. It was great to see a lot of our club represented. STALL: Each home game we run a snack/soup stall. Teams that are rostered to play at home are asked to contribute to the stall by providing a soup and snacks and by manning the stall 2 or 3 times throughout the season. MEDICAL DETAILS: Please ensure all medical details have been updated in our database: http://grangenetball.myclubmate.com/mydetails/ Grange Uniting Netball Club has been selected to take part in the ANZ Community Group Package. This means an incentive is paid directly to the club for every eligible Home or Business Loan that is referred to ANZ from GUNC. All payments made to the club are anonymous, so we won’t ever know who has done the lending. You don’t even have to be a member of our club to say that you have been referred by GUNC so spread the word and let your family and friends know about this exciting opportunity to help raise money for our club. If you would like further information about this program, please contact Business Banking Relationship Manager, Debbie Smart, on 0466 422 490, Branch Manager West Lakes, Michael Humphries, on 7425 0501 or Branch Manager Woodville North, Marg Mills, on 8468 2884. SPONSORS – I believe we are keeping our sponsors the Adelaide Crows Sports Medicine Physio Clinic quite busy! Please contact them on 08 8347 2043 for all your physio needs. Don’t forget to mention you are from the Grange Uniting Netball Club. Our Club has decided to adopt the Opal Sugar Free Healthy Sports Program. The Sugar Free Sports program helps kids get the most from their game by combining physical activity with healthy foods and drinks. The program is simply about promoting water and fruit during training and game time. We therefore ask: children come to training and games with WATER ONLY. Fruit only during game time - no lollies. 'Game Time' is defined as the time spent on the field under duty of care of the coach, for example, approximately 5 minutes prior to the game until 5 minutes after the game. We do not intend to regulate what is sold to families off the court, just to limit what is provided and encouraged during training and game time. The main objective of the program is for people to identify these officials as “learners” and understand that they may make mistakes. They must also understand that harassment or abuse of these umpires will not be tolerated and steps are in place to ensure that everyone concerned knows that SAUCNA and the Umpires Association are behind these umpires 100% as are we.
