Case study
Bill visited KAMCAB in Stonehaven to discuss his options regarding his housing allocation. In order
to address his homeless status, Bill was relocated from Stonehaven to St Cyrus.
The new travel distance has become an issue for Bill because he relies on public transport and it limits
access to the support services he has in place.
Bill has a number of issues which need to be advised on. He has depression, is unemployed and has
multiple debts. He now has to travel 17 miles from St Cyrus to access services in Stonehaven and
even further to reach college in Aberdeen.
The impact of the cost of travel is that Bill has been isolated further, making it more challenging to access
the help and network he relies on for stability and support.
