Region V Clinic - Ohio Sports Academy

The Region 5 Athlete Clinic is designed to support and encourage all levels of athletes and coaches,
with special emphasis on the J.O. Program. This year we are using a new two-day format with each
club assigned a training block. All participating pair/groups from the respective club will train during
their club’s designated time. No division by level. Clubs will have dedicated one-on-one training
time with clinicians and have the flexibility to tailor their training block to meet their coaches’ and
athletes’ needs. Clubs can use their time as they see fit: i.e., choreography and presentation work,
skill work, drills and conditioning, different aspects for different pair/groups. This will help clubs gain
additional time with clinicians and focus on their most important needs. Club blocks were
determined based on the estimated number of athletes participating per club.
Nancy Davis and Lanie Davis, from ATA in San Jose, CA will be with us again this year. They will be
great resources to the Region 5 teams as you continue to prepare for the upcoming season.

Nancy Davis… Nancy is the team manager and a coach at ATA Gymnastics in
San Jose, CA. Through her career, Nancy has worked with many national
champion and international competitors. Nancy also holds a National Superior
judges rating and frequently judges at National Championships. Nancy is
currently serving as a member of the National JO Committee.
Alayna “Lanie” Davis… Lanie is the head coach at ATA Gymnastics in San Jose,
CA. Her responsibilities primarily include coaching the optional and elite-level
athletes. Her most recent coaching accomplishment is coaching Men’s Pair,
Bryan Allen and Brennan Atsatt, to a silver medal at the 2014 World Age Group

much of the choreography work for her club.
Both Nancy and Lanie have a great deal of knowledge regarding skill technique,
development, and drills. However, they also understand current skill trends,
routine construction, artistry, and more. They have also helped ATA develop
their team structure, training plans, conditioning, and partnering among other
responsibilities and can certainly help coaches with these aspects of acrobatics.
We are lucky to have these two great coaches joining us for our Region 5
