Question 1: Air enters a compressor of an Air Standard Brayton cycle at 100 kPa and 300 K and a
volumetric flow rate of 5 m3/s. The compressor pressure ratio is 10, and the turbine inlet
temperature is 1400 K. The turbine and compressor have isentropic efficiencies of 80%. Find the
cycle efficiency, back work ratio and the net power developed. Draw a T-s diagram. Ensure you
write out the full first law and assumptions for all components of the cycle.
