Amendments 11-20 By Mr. Palmerio Amendment 11 - 1798 •People in one state cannot sue another state in federal court Amendment 12 - 1804 •People could vote for President and Vice President together Amendment 13 - 1865 •Abolished Slavery Amendment 14 - 1868 • All Americans, regardless of race, were granted rights and citizenship • Counted blacks in population counts for the census Amendment 15 - 1870 •Gave blacks suffrage – the right to vote Amendment 16 - 1913 •Congress can make and collect an income tax Amendment 17 - 1913 •Allowed Senators to be elected by the people instead of appointed by the state legislatures Amendment 18 - 1919 •Prohibited the sale or consumption of alcohol Amendment 19 - 1920 •Gave women suffrage – the right to vote Amendment 20 - 1933 •Changed the dates when elected officials took office – from th March 4 to January 20th
