NOTE: Sponsorship and bank loan confirmation letters must indicate that payments will be made directly to the NMMU and must be submitted annually. It must contain the student number, be on an official company letterhead, be addressed to the NMMU, must CONFIRM the sponsorship and the commitment amount, the signee cannot be the student/family member and the sponsorship is subject to the approval of the NMMU. Sponsorship that is subject to any academic performance is not accepted at registration. For students registering on-line, the guide is available on the NMMU website at address: http://www.nmmu.ac.za/studentaccountsguide A copy of the letter must be in your possession at all times during registration periods Important Only payments made at NMMU Cashier Pay Points and credit card payments made via the NMMU website https://paymentsgateway.nmmu.ac.za/PaymentOption.aspx reflect immediately on your student account. Direct bank or internet payments must reflect on the student account before registration will be permitted. It may take up to 2 days after the date of the deposit or transfer therefore your payment must be made at least 2 days prior to registration. Access to results is only enabled once the payment reflects on the student account! RESULTS - Access is blocked until payment reflects on the student account Verify your account balance Student Portal Kiosk Confirm that your payment has been processed and that the balance has been fully settled. Account balance settled Bank payments not yet reflecting IMPORTANT If your account balance is settled, obtain your results from the Kiosk or the Student Portal Allow 2 working days for processing thereof. Results will be blocked until the payment REFLECTS ON THE STUDENT ACCOUNT WHICH MAY TAKE BETWEEN 1 - 2 DAYS AFTER THE DEPOSIT OR TRANSFER DATE. REGISTRATION Outstanding debt and down-payments must be paid 2 days prior to registration Verify your account balance via the self-Service facilities If your account balance is in credit with the required down-payment amount, you may proceed with registration Student Portal Kiosk Confirm that the account balance has been settled and that the down-payment has been received (2 working days are required for the processing of bank/internet payments). Delayed registration If your payment is in respect of outstanding debt AND your down-payment but it is not yet reflecting on your student account, your registration is blocked. You will be unable to proceed with registration if your payment is not yet reflecting. Your registration is blocked until the payment reflects on your student account. Students with overdue debt payments cannot be cleared and their registration will only be enabled once the student account is in credit with the required down-payment. Delayed registration Financial Clearance If you have a copy of the proof of payment, you will be referred to Student Accounts. Present proof of payment to Student Accounts. If clearance is granted, you may proceed with registration EXTERNAL SPONSORSHIPS - Sponsor letters Only Sponsorship letters received by Student Accounts by 13 JANUARY 2017 will be processed and the students will be pre-cleared for registration. Outstanding debt must be settled 2 days before registration (bank payments) Account settled and full sponsorship for 2017 – Letter SUBMITTED to Student Accounts by 13 JANUARY 2017 If your sponsorship is according to requirements, is accepted by NMMU and fully covers the required down-payment, you may proceed with registration Account settled and sponsorship for 2017 - You will be referred to Student Accounts Email address for sponsorship confirmation letters: [email protected] A copy of the official company letter addressed to the NMMU must be in your possession at all times during registration periods Verify your account balance via the self-Service facilities Student Portal Kiosk Confirm that the account balance has been settled (2 working days are required for the processing of bank/internet payments). Letter NOT SUBMITTED Student Accounts by 13 JANUARY 2017 full Delayed registration Your registration will be delayed until financial clearance has been granted by Student Accounts to Limited sponsorship In the event of a query, have a copy of the proof of payment with you Previous year’s account settled and 2017 sponsored amount is LESS than the required down-payment Pay the shortfall amount upfront at least 2 days prior to registration Limited sponsorship Previous year’s outstanding debt and 2017 sponsored amount is LESS than the required down-payment Financial Clearance Present the sponsor letter to Student Accounts. After clearance has been granted by Student Accounts you may proceed with registration Delayed registration Financial Clearance Your registration will be delayed until financial clearance has been granted by Student Accounts Present the sponsor letter to Student Accounts. After clearance has been granted by Student Accounts you may proceed with registration Delayed registration If your payment is in respect of outstanding debt AND your shortfall downpayment and it is not yet reflecting on your student account, your registration will be blocked. You will be unable to proceed with registration if your payment is not yet reflecting. Your registration will be blocked until the arrears payment and the shortfall payment reflect on your student account. Students with overdue debt payments cannot be cleared for registration. They will only be able to proceed with registration once the student account is in credit with the required shortfall amount NMMU BURSARIES / AWARDS / GRANTS (Outstanding debt must be paid 2 days before registration) Verify your account balance via the self-Service facilities Student Portal Kiosk Confirm that the account balance has been settled and has been received (2 working days are required for the processing of bank/internet payments). In the event of a query, have a copy of the proof of payment with you If your NMMU bursary / award / grant cover your required down-payment and you have proof of the award confirmation notification, you may proceed with registration If your account is settled and your NMMU bursary / award / grant amount is LESS than your required down-payment, pay the shortfall upfront before you may proceed with registration Delayed registration If you have outstanding debt and your NMMU bursary / award / grant amount is LESS than your required down-payment, pay the outstanding debt and the shortfall upfront before you may proceed with registration Delayed registration Your registration will be delayed until financial clearance has been granted by Student Accounts If your payment is in respect of outstanding debt AND your shortfall down-payment but it is not yet reflecting on your student account, your registration will be blocked. Financial Clearance Present proof of your shortfall payment and your award confirmation notification to Student Accounts. After clearance has been granted, you may proceed with registration Financial Clearance You will be unable to proceed with registration if your payment is not yet reflecting. Your registration will be blocked until the arrears payment and the shortfall payment reflect on your student account. Students with overdue debt payments cannot be cleared. NSFAS SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES Successful zero EFC students are automatically cleared for registration on the system. If you are not cleared for registration, there is a problem and you should query it with Financial Aid (North campus)
