Did you know?
You’ve got the green shirt on, strings of beads around
your neck and you’re wearing walking shoes. But before
you jump into your car and fight to find a parking space
north of Forsyth Park, consider public transportation.
If you just have to drive, know that parking meters
along the parade route will be covered the night of
March 16. Don’t park in these spots. Vehicles will be
towed beginning 6 a.m. March 17.
If your car is towed, you must obtain a vehicle release
form from Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police
Department headquarters at Habersham Street and
Oglethorpe Avenue. You must take your driver’s license
and car registration with your name on it.
If your registration is in your vehicle, you must ask
the towing service to retrieve it for you, then take it back
to police before it will be released. Then you must pay a
fine to the towing service.
