1917, Independence – Russia controlled Finland from 1809 to 1917. Due to the fall of
Russian Tsar Nicholas II and the Russian Revolutions of 1917, the Finns declared their
independence on December 6, 1917. Finland’s Independence Day is celebrated on
December 6 and is the most noted national holiday in the land.
1918, Civil War – Socialists (Red Guard) and non-Socialists (White Guard) fought a
civil war from January 27, 1918, to May 15, 1918. The White Guard won.
1919, Republic – Finland became a democratic republic.
The Finnish Civil War and the Russian Civil War. The December 6, 1917, Finnish
Declaration of Independence led to the Finnish Civil War of the Red Guard vs. the White Guard
from January 27, 1918, to May 15, 1918, which was entwined with the larger Russian Civil War
of the Red Army vs. the White Army.
Actually, both the Red Guard and the White Guard in Finland desired independence for Finland
from Russia. However, since the Red Guard was supported by Trotsky’s Red Army, what should
be understood is that the victory of the Finnish Whites over the Finnish Reds in the Finnish Civil
War delivered Finland fully out of Soviet Russian hegemony. The victory of the Finnish Whites
in the Finnish Civil War would make Finland white, delivering the Finns out of the Soviet
Russian orbit, which would swamp Belarus, Ukraine, and the other states, and which would
make them red.

Key Understanding: The “forerunner” fulfillment of “the time of the end.” “The Time of the
Finnish Whites” that made Finland white occurred in conjunction with and attached to the
Russian Civil War (1918-1920), when many were made red. This was at the beginning of the
Soviet Union, and should be looked upon as an initial “forerunner” fulfillment of the
passage of Daniel 12:8-10, which was substantially fulfilled at “the time of the end” of the
Soviet Union. Thus, “The Time of the Finnish Whites” and their deliverance from the
Bolshevik Reds at the beginning of the Soviet Union was foretelling “the time of the end” of
the Red Soviet Union on December 8-10, 1991, when many would be made white.
