Biography Bottle Part 1

Biography Bottle Part 1
A “Bottle Buddy” is a representation of a person who has made significant contribution to
our world. It is a “dressed-up” one-liter bottle with a Styrofoam ball to serve as the Bottle
Buddy’s head. When you create a “Bottle Buddy” people should be able to recognize the
famous person (or at least make some good guesses) by the clothes he/she wears and the
telling accessories you use to support your representation.
Materials and Bottle Buddy Construction:
1.
One-liter bottle- emptied and refilled with sand or gravel to one third.
2. Styrofoam Ball- Approximately the same width dimensions (or slightly larger) as the
one-liter bottle.
3. Clothes: Select materials appropriate to your character. Felt can work fine to
construct a jacket or pants.
4. Representative Items: Whatever will capture the essence of what the character is
known for. If known in the medical field, a stethoscope. A suit and tie for many
politicians etc.
5. Facial Detail: select eyes, nose, mouth, hair, beards, and/or mustaches and other
head related items from a local hobby shop to support the bottle buddy’s facial
features.
6. Optional items: Hats, arms, shoes, canes, glasses, should be used as needed to
enhance the representation of the character.

Type facts from your research and place it on the background.
Make six pizza slices to place in the bottom of the box. (Use your imagination for what to
make the slices out of. It could be tag board, poster board, fun foam etc.).
Each pizza slice needs to have picture or fact showing the “slices of their life.” (For example:
One of Henry Ford's slices could have a small model of a Ford car on it).
The boxes are displayed with the lid open and there is no decoration used on the outside of
the box.
