Jacob Shortslef: Signed with Texas Rangers 26th Round Pick Was
committed to Lynn University, FL-NCAA DII-Scholarship
Shortslef made his debut on June 24th pitching 2 innings giving up 2 hits but no
earned runs. In fact Shortslef ran off 10 straight appearances without giving up an
earned run. Shortslef worked long relief, sometime pitching 1 inning or
sometimes needed to go 3 or 4 innings. Shortlef went on to throw 35 innings
allowing 6 earned runs while striking out 31 batter and only allowing 6 walks. He
had a 3-2 record with a save sporting a 1.54 ERA. This was good enough to have
the club call him up to Class A after his rookie league season ended.
Tashi Terashima: St. Bonaventure, NY-NCAA DI-Scholarship
Started 49 games and hit leadoff for the Bonnies. Hit .296 with 9
doubles and a triple with 8 stolen bases. Only had 12 strikeouts
over 199 at bats.
Marcus Failing: Univ. of Albany, NY– NCAA DI-Scholarship
Marcus started 11 games for the Great Danes and went 2-4
including a quality start at South Carolina. Marcus carried a 4.93
ERA as a junior.
Joe Nellis: St. Johns University, NY-NCAA DI-Scholarship
Threw 35 innings before discovering an arm injury which
required surgery and ended his year. Went 2-5 and made 6
starts.
Chris Rave: Erskine, SC-NCAA DII-Scholarship
Chris was named first team all-conference for an outstanding
season as a junior. He played in 49 games and hit .373 over 185 at bats with
16 doubles and 4 HR with 44 runs batted in.
Tyler Phillips: Erskine, SC-NCAA DII-Scholarship
Tyler started 52 games and hit .302 over 192 at bats with 13
doubles, 3 HR, 38 RBI, and 11 stolen bases.
Chad Sinko: Saint Thomas Aquinas, NY-NCAA DIIScholarship Chad appeared in 12 games and posted a 2.79 ERA
over 19 innings with 23 Ks and only 4 BB.

Rob Hardy: Binghamton University, NY-NCAA DI-Scholarship
Rob had a strong junior season for the Bearcats going 3-4 as a conference starter with
wins over VMI, Hartford, NYIT and also went 5 strong innings against Auburn
University allowing only 1 hit and no runs. He finished with 57.1 innings pitched on
the year. As a senior Rob moved to a more fitting role in the bullpen and thrived
being named All Conference with a 3.88 ERA with 7 saves and 45 K’s with 16 BB in
65 innings pitched. BU won the regular season conference and Rob pitched the final
four innings to win conference tournament where he struck out the final two batters
and didn't allow an earned run in his outing. He helped Binghamton move on to Texas A&M and the
NCAA DI Regionals, their 3rd regional appearance in the last four years.
Chris Burns III: Univ. of Arkansas PB, AR – NCAA DI-Scholarship
Chris had a great junior year playing in 38 games and hitting .323 with 8
doubles, 1 triple and 22 runs batted in, second most wins in school history
with 25, and recorded wins over Missouri, Mississippi
State, Kansas and Louisiana Tech. Played in 18 games as
a senior and hit .250 with 2 doubles and helped UAPB
win 2 SWAC Western Division Championships.
AJ Fabrizio: Erskine College, SC-NCAA DII Scholarship-AJ
played in 37 games in 2016 and hit .337 with 4 doubles, 4 triples, 1
HR with 21 RBI. Hit his only HR against North Greenville at the
end of the season to help lock up the conference title.
Dan Colburn: Cazenovia, NY – NCAA DIII-Dan hit .330 with 8
doubles, 5 triples, 1 home run and 18 runs batted in as a junior. He also
went 1-2 on the mound. As a senior he played in 29 games and hit .259
with 3 doubles and also threw 21 innings with 20 strikeouts.
Kyle Garrison: Adelphi, NY-NCAA DII Scholarship-Tranfer
Oswego-Kyle appeared in 13 games and started 5 games on the mound as
a junior. He had 7 walks and 13 strikeouts over 25 innings pitched.
Transferred to Oswego for senior year and will pitch in2017.
Ben Moxley: Sienna College, NY-NCAA DI-Scholarship-Transferred to DIII
Cortland State, NY As a junior Ben suffered an ankle injury but threw 26 innings
with a 3-1 record early in the year.
Denis Lyman: Lee University, TN-NCAA DII Scholarship-Transferred to DII
Bridgeport, CT-Dennis appeared in 15 games posting a 3.07 ERA with 33 K’s and 10
BB over 41 innings pitched and helped Bridgeport to a NCAA regional appearance.
Lonnie Cohen: Univ. of Arkansas PB , AR – NCAA DI-Transfer to DIII
New England College, NH-As a transfer junior Lonnie played in 31 games
for New England College and hit .284 with 9 doubles, 2 triples, 1 homerun
and added 15 RBI’s.
Mike DeCarlo: Univ. of Arkansas PB, AR – NCAA DI-Scholarship

2013 Players
Brandon Overstreet: Erskine College, SC-NCAA DII-Scholarship
As a Junior made 2nd Team All Region and 1st team All Conference.
Overstreet was tied for the team lead in home runs with 10, while hitting
.348 with 15 doubles and 41 RBI's. During his senior year Brandon
became the 12th Erskine baseball player in school history to be named an
NCAA All-American. Overstreet was named second team All-American
by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and
the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He was
also named third team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
Overstreet was a first team All Conference and All-Region selection this season hitting .417 with
22 doubles 11 home runs and 61 RBI's.
Joe Kuzia: St. Johns Univ, NY– NCAA DI–Scholarship
Was named by Baseball America as the #6 draft prospect in the Big East
heading into junior year. Named 1st team All Conference as a junior led
the league with 13 saves and has a 0.75 ERA, while finishing the regular
season tied for fifth in the league with 27 appearances. The righty has 29
strikeouts and only nine walks, while also allowing just a .171 opponent
batting average in 36.0 innings of work. Kuzia had eight saves in BIG
EAST action. As a senior was a key piece out of the bullpen in leading
St. John’s to a Big East title and advancing to a NCAA regional at
Oklahoma State. Kuzia went 3-2 with a 3.78 ERA and
2 saves over 33 appearances.
Ryan Watson: Utica College, NY – NCAA DIII
Watson earned All Conference honorable-mention honors as a first basemen in
his first season at Utica. He led the team in batting average (.341), RBIs (26),
and on-base percentage (.431). He played in 26 games, while starting 25 and
he recorded nine multi-hit outings. He also led the team in
era with 29.2 innings pitched and only gave up six walks
during his junior season. As a senior Ryan hit .302 with 5
doubles, 2 triples, 1 homerun and 19 RBI’s. He also went 3-3 on
the mound with a 2.83 ERA and 2 complete games over 47.2
inning pitched.
Brent Baker: Cazenovia, NY – NCAA DIII
Played 31 games at shortstop and hit .250 as a junior. Brent
returned his senior year to hit .320 with 5 doubles and 21 runs
batted in.
Gerald Iglesias: SUNYIT, NY – NCAA DIII
Played in 23 games and hit .278 with 5 doubles, helped team to 2nd
place finish in conference tournament. During his senior year
Gerald hit .333 over 29 games with 8 doubles, 1 home run and 18 runs batted in.
Dan Smith: Limestone College, SC-NCAA DII-Scholarship
Redshirted his junior year but played in 29 games his senior season and hit .271
with 5 doubles, 2 homeruns and 12 runs batted in.
2012 Players
Willie Gabay: Signed with Tampa Bay Rays 15th Round Pick
In first two years went 2-2 in professional baseball with a 5.40 ERA over 36
innings, was injured in 2013 missed major time. Gabay put a full season together
in 2014 for the Tampa Bay Rays organization and had a big year. Gabay started
off in High A ball in Charlotte and did well filling in the roster working 3 games
and holding a 1.35 ERA over 6.2 innings. Gabay was then sent to
Bowling Green in the Midwest league to get settled in for the year
and really took a big step in his development. Gabay worked 42.1
innings with 21 appearances and posted a 2-1 record with 1 save.
Gabay gathered 39 strikeouts and only 7 walks over those 42.1 innings and
posted a 0.99 WHIP.
Hassan Evans: Delaware State, DE – NCAA DI – Scholarship
Named #1 draft prospect in his conference by Baseball America heading into
senior year. Finished off senior year playing in 33 games hitting .266 with 7
doubles, 2 homeruns, and 22 RBI’s. As a Junior hit .366 with 8 doubles, 3 triples
and 29 RBI over 38 games played with 15 stolen bases.
Kyle Schwartz: Univ. of Arkansas PB , AR – NCAA DI-Scholarship
Went 3-6 with a 4.98 ERA over 81 innings his senior year. Lost 2-1 at
Auburn University worked 7.1 innings allowing no earned
runs 3 hits, 6 strikeouts with 0 walks. As a Junior led team
in innings pitched with 79.1 with a 3.74 ERA went 4-6 and
was named conference pitcher of the week twice. Was
listed in the conference preview by Baseball America and
called a “bulldog” which describes him to perfection.
Luke Nethaway: St. Rose, NY – NCAA DII – Scholarship
As a Junior, Luke played in 31 games hitting .254 with 3 homeruns.
His Sophomore year started 45 games with 6 doubles, 2 triples, 16
RBI’s and 6 stolen bases. Luke finished off his senior year hitting
.236 with 10 doubles, 2 HR and 14 RBI’s.
John LeClair: Mansfield University, PA – NCAA DII – Scholarship
Started 42 games his senior year and hit .321 with 6 doubles, 12 stolen bases and
only one error. Hit 7 homeruns and had 43 RBI’s both tied for 2nd place in the
conference. As a Junior made seven appearances for the Mountaineers … had a
hit in eight at bats for a .125 batting average … scored a run in a win over Lincoln 3/27 … had
an RBI in a win over Penn College 4/14 … drew a walk … had a putout and two
assists.
Vinny Barbato: Brescia University, KY - NAIA –
Played in 45 games his senior year and hit .248 with 4 doubles. As a
Junior started in 21 games played in 31. Hit .234 with 4 doubles with 7
RBI and 3 SB as a junior.
Justin Weakley: Bridgeport, CT-NCAA DII –Scholarship
DNP Senior year. Started 14 games for the Purple Knights had 2 doubles and hit
.231.
2011 Players
Matt Gaine: Newberry College, SC – NCAA DII – Scholarship
Matt started 22 games and appeared in 36 hitting .161 on the year as a
junior. As a senior Matt started 17 games and hit .234 with 10 RBI’s.
Vinny Gaetano: Adelphi University, NY – NCAA DII – Scholarship
As a junior he appeared in 24 games with nine starts ... collected six hits
and three RBI ... scored three runs and drew five walks ... first hit as a
Panther was a solo home run against Dowling (2/28) ... went 1-3 with a
double and a walk at Franklin Pierce (4/6) ... went 1-3 with an RBI against American
Int'l (4/21). As a senior Vinny started 21 games and hit 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homerun, and 17
RBI’s.
Patrick Shepardson: Cazenovia College, NY – NCAA DIII
Appeared in 29 games as a junior where he hit .209 with 4 doubles
and 2 homeruns as a junior. Senior year he hit .294 with 10
doubles, 1 triple, and 5 homeruns with 25 RBI’s.
Jamie Barr: Cazenovia College, NY – NCAA DIII
Appeared in 29 games and led the team in homeruns with 3. Hit .329 with 3
doubles, and 3 triples. Also appeared in 6 games on the mound where he posted
22.2 innings pitched with 20 strikes and a 5.56 ERA. Senior year he appeared in 34
games hit .305 with 4 doubles, 6 triples, and 2 homeruns with 27 RBI’s. Also went
2-3 on the mound over 33.1 innings pitched with 36 strikeouts and 13 walks.
2010 Players
Lee Foxton: Slippery Rock University, PA – NCAA DII – Scholarship
As a junior Lee started 44 out of 46 games and hit .255 (37-for-145) with
23 runs scored, one home run and 16 RBI … compiled on-base and
slugging percentages of .353 and .317 respectively … was 3-for-5 in stolen
base attempts … hit .333 (15-for45) off of left handed pitching … tallied
12 multi-hit games … registered a six-game hitting streak April 10-17. As
a senior Lee started all 45 games for the Rock ... hit .239 (33-for-138) with
21 runs, 11 RBI and eight doubles ... second on the team in doubles ...
completed the season with an on-base percentage of .305 ... went 3-for-4
with two runs, one RBI and three doubles vs. Clarion on March 31 ...
registered a six-game hit streak February 26 - March 12 (10 hits total)
Kris Barone: Mount Olive College, NC – NCAA DII – Scholarship
Transferred to St. Rose, NY-NCAA DII
Mount Olive went to the DII World Series Kris’s junior season. Kris threw 18.1
innings for the Trojans with a 4.42 ERA and a 2-0 record with 1 save. Kris
transferred to St. Rose for his senior year where he started 11 games and appeared
in 13 as a pitcher. Kris went 2-3 with 2 saves and led the staff with 72 innings
pitched. He struck out 59 batters over 72 innings pitched with a 3.00 ERA.
George Hajjar: Felician College, NJ – NCAA DII – Scholarship
Played in 44 out of 46 games as a junior and hit .261 with 5 doubles and 2
triples with 18 stolen bases and only made 1 error on the season. Hajjar started
45 games as a senior and hit .295 with 3 doubles, 4 triples, and 2 homeruns with
20 RBI’s and 13 stolen bases.
Brett Hauber: Felician College, NJ - NCAA DII –
Scholarship
Brett became a full time pitcher and earned a 6-5 record with 4 saves over 55
innings. He struck out 51 batters with a 2.60 ERA. Brett appeared in 7 games as
a senior before his season ended in arm surgery.
Joe Perrotta: Lynn University, FL – NCAA DII –
Scholarship
As a junior Perrotta appeared in a team high 25 appearances on the mound. He
had a 3-2 record with 3 saves working 52.1 innings, adding 49 strikeouts,
while allowing 20 walks and 54 hits with a 3.78 ERA. Was a conference
starter his senior year and went 5-5 with a 3.61 ERA over 89.2 innings pitched.
Lane Potter: Brescia University, KY - NAIA – Scholarship
Lane started in the infield for Head Coach Aaron Biddle. Lane hit .284 over 134 at
bats and led the team in homeruns with 5 and 7 doubles. He also finished second
on the team in runs batted in with 26. As a senior he started in 44 games hitting
.280 with 5 doubles, 1 home run and 17 RBI’s with a torn muscle in his shoulder.
Al Ferenti: St. Rose, NY – NCAA DII – Scholarship
Al finished 3rd on the team with innings pitched as a junior while also
appearing in 11 games at shortstop. On the mound he posted a 5.44 ERA with
a 4-2 record with 2 complete games and had 28 k’s with 10 base on balls.
Ferenti’s senior year he appeared in 4 games on the mound logging 10 innings
but started 32 out of 37 games at shortstop. Ferenti hit .190 with 2 doubles, a
triple, and a homerun over an injury plagued season.
TJ Abounader: Tusculum College, TN – NCAA DII – Scholarship
TJ threw 5 innings in 5 appearances with a 1.80 ERA his junior year and
helped Tusculum to a 33-18 season. As a senior TJ appeared in 4 games with
a 3.38 ERA.
Andy Eggleston: Keystone College,
PA – NCAA DIII
Andy helped Keystone College to the
2011 NCAA DIII World Series. Andy
pitched 12 innings on the season with 14 strikeouts and
allowed 7 walks. Andy carried a 2.25 ERA on the season.
As a senior he appeared in 11 games, starting 6 of them. He
was second in innings pitched with 52.1 and held a 2.41
ERA with a 4-0 record with 1 save.
Amar Lewis: Lincoln Memorial, TN – NCAA DII – Scholarship
Transferred to University of Bridgeport, CT-NCAA DII
Amar hit .417 in limited action with 1 double in his junior season and transferred to
University at Bridgeport for his senior season. As a senior he
appeared in 13 games posting a .182 average with 1 double.
Jeff Sergott: SUNY Brockport, NY - NCAA DIII
Jeff played in 3 games as a junior for Brockport. As a senior he
appeared in 14 games logging 25 at bats while adding a double.
Brandon Jones: St. Rose, NY - NCAA DII
Had 45 at bats and hit .200 as a Junior with 1 double and 1
homerun. DNP senior year.
2009 Players
Ron Patterson: Brevard College, NC – NCAA DII – Scholarship
Started 43 games for the Tornados and was the starting centerfielder where he
earned a gold glove his junior season. Ron hit .236 with 1 homerun, 5 stolen
bases, 6 doubles and a triple his junior year. Ron hit .319 his senior season and
started every game for the Tornadoes. He had 3 homeruns with 7 stolen bases and
hit 7 doubles his senior season.
Josh Tucker: Cazenovia College, NY – NCAA DIII
Went 3-4 on the mound and led the team in ERA as a junior. As a senior,
Tucker led the team in batting average hitting .325 over 80 at bats.
Tom Wiacek: Erskine College, SC – NCAA DII –
Scholarship
Redshirt at Erskine and transferred to NCAA-DII University at Bridgeport where he
threw 40 innings with 41 k’s and 15 walks with a 1.33 ERA, compiled a 4-3 record
with 3 saves.
Nick Bloom: Illinois College, IL – NCAA DIII
Nick made the football team at Illinois College and played two years
as a wide receiver for the program.
Josh Parrow: University of Bridgeport, CT – NCAA DII – Scholarship
Appeared in one game for the Purple Knights as a junior and pitched out of the
bullpen as a senior for the Purple Knights.
2008 Players
Nick Testa: Davis and Elkins, WV - DII – Scholarship
Nick was named first team Rawlings Gold Glovers as selected by the
American Baseball Coaches Association's members in the Atlantic Region.
Testa hit .341 in 50 games played as a junior. As a senior Testa played in 49
games and hit .349 over 149 at bats.
Keith Hendricks: Flagler College, FL – DII – Scholarship
Keith finished his junior season hitting .319 and led the team
in stolen bases.
Dan Wood: Davis and Elkins, WV – DII – Scholarship
(Transferred to University of New Haven- NCAA DII then to Cazenovia
College as a senior)
Hit .270 as a senior and led the team in doubles with 7.
Preston Poznoski: Davis and Elkins, WV - DII – Scholarship
Poz worked out of the bullpen for D&E as a junior. Transferred and played at SUNY Brockport
his senior season.
2007 Players
Todd Allen: University of Vermont, VT - DI –
Scholarship
(Transferred to SUNY Brockport, NY-NCAA DIII)
Todd played one season at Vermont before transferring to
Brockport for his senior season. At Brockport, Todd broke
the school’s season RBI record with 45 and also was
selected as an All Region player when he hit .330 with 8
homeruns.
Chad Salls: Cazenovia College, NY – DIII
Chad went on to lead Caz to two regular season conference titles
and finished 2nd in the country in batting average his junior year.
Chad was named to All Conference, All Region, and All
American during his two years when he hit .522
as a junior and .368 his senior season. Chad
added 18 doubles, 12 homeruns, 80 RBI’s, and
44 stolen bases during his two seasons.
Drew Farley: Bellevue University, NE NAIA DI – Scholarship-Drew was an All Conference player and led Bellevue
to the NAIA World Series his junior season. Drew hit over .330 years and
added 29 doubles, 17 homeruns, and 83 RBI’s during his two years.
Kirt Broedel: St. Lawrence, NY – DIII- Kirt went on to hit .282 in
34 games played for Saints.
John Florance: Mount Olive, NC - DII – Scholarship Transferred
to Wilkes University, PA – NCAA DIII where he hit .286 and led the
team in doubles with 13, he added a triple and 2 homeruns to go
along with 6 stolen bases his junior year and finished up his senior
season in 2010 hitting .313.
Anthony DeSarro: SUNY IT, NY – DIII Anthony went on to start
behind the plate his sophomore year for SUNYIT. He then
transferred to Cazenovia College where he hit .281 and led the team
with 7 doubles.
Kyle Lumpkin: Columbia Union, MD - DII – Scholarship Played one season in Maryland
before transferring to SUNY Cortland to finish his degree.
Jimmy LoRusso: Ramapo College, NJ – DIII Jimmy played one year for Ramapo.
2006 Players
Mario Roefaro: Binghamton University, NY - DI – Scholarship
Mario played two years for the bearcats and helped BU to two American East
regular season conference titles.
Josh Hicks: Bryant University, RI - DII -Scholarship
(Transferred to SUNY Cortland, NY-NCAA DIII)
Josh went on to Cortland and was an impact player for Head Coach Joe Brown.
In his two years Josh helped Cortland advance to two
NCAA DIII College World Series.
Bill Arpei: Columbia Union College, MD - DII – Scholarship
Bill had an outstanding two years for CUC hitting .362 as a junior and
.327 as a senior. Bill also added 27 doubles, 8 homeruns, 79 RBI’s,
with 38 stolen bases in his two years. He led CUC to a USCAA
championship his senior season.
Kyle Grup: Missouri Western State University, MO - DII –
Scholarship Kyle served as close for MWSU and finished his degree. Kyle then returned to
Herkimer as a member of the coaching staff and served as
Herkimer’s pitching coach.
Brendan O'Connor: Lander University, SC - DII –
Scholarship OC served as the starting shortstop for
Lander his junior season hitting .294 for the season.
Corleon Brown: Florance Darlington Tech, SC NJCAA DI Corleon finished his year at Tech and went on
to pursue his degree at the University of South Carolina.
2005 Players
Everett Saul: Missouri Western State
University, MO - DII – Scholarship
Everett served as the #1 starter for WMSU.
After his standout two years he signed a
professional contract with Florence Freedom
of the Frontier League.
Paul Newman: Erskine College, SC - DII Scholarship
(Transferred to Bemidji State, MN-NCAA
DII) After redshirting at Erskine, Paul went
on to finish his two years in Minnesota where he hit .271 with 7
doubles and 2 homeruns his senior season.
Jose Sanchez: Crichton College, TN NAIA – Scholarship Jose played one
year for Crichton before returning home
to Puerto Rico.
Jossey Vigo: Crichton College, TN NAIA – Scholarship Jossey played one
year for Crichton before returning home
to Puerto Rico.
Chad Heckler: Wilkes Community College, NC - NJCAA DI
Chad went onto St. Andrews College in SC after his one year with the
DI JUCO program.
