ENTER THE WATERCRESS FOOD AWARDS AT
THE ALRESFORD WATERCRESS FESTIVAL ON SUNDAY 18 MAY
AND WIN CASH PRIZES!
Calling all Watercress Festival stall holders and shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants
in Alresford! Submit your watercress products for the Watercress Food Awards
2014 and you could be in with the chance of winning £100.
This year we’ve increased the number of categories to be judged by internationally
acclaimed food writer and author, Lucas Hollweg and local MP, Steve Brine at
the Watercress Festival on Sunday 18 May.
The Categories:
 Sausages & Burgers
 Soups & Sauces
 Sweet Treats
 Most Innovative (for any produce that doesn’t fall into the categories
above)
An overall Festival winner will be selected from the four categories
The winner of each category will be awarded £100 cash, together with a trophy and
certificate. The overall Festival winner will receive an additional £100 to recognise
their achievement. Winners will not only have been judged by Lucas Hollweg, the
Guild of Food Writers' Cookery Columnist of the Year 2012, regular columnist for
Waitrose Kitchen magazine and contributor to the Times, Delicious, Sainsbury's
Magazine and House & Garden, but they will feature in a press release to be sent to
the local and national media and appear on www.watercress.co.uk, all providing
valuable free publicity for their business - so there’s everything to go for!
How to enter: simply fill in the form on the reverse of this sheet and bring it, together with a clearly
labelled sample of your product, to the top floor of Alresford Community Hall between 10am and 1pm on
Sunday 18 May. If you would like your product to be tasted hot, please pre cook/heat it and bring it along
at 1pm when judging will begin.
The Food Award winners will be announced on the main stage at
2:30pm on Sunday 18 May – please ensure you are available at
that time to attend the award ceremony.
Rules:
- Your product must contain watercress
- Your product must be available to eat or buy at the Watercress Festival on Sunday 18
May
- No late entries will be accepted
- You may enter more than one category
