THE DE C E M B E R 1 8 , 2013 12 DAYS OF MINISTRY & AN ETERNITY OF BLESSINGS Northside’s Twelve Days of Christmas has concluded without having any of the repetitive singing about a partridge in a pear tree, but here is what was included: • 50 Hospice Kit Buckets on their way to African AIDs patients • 5 Sr. Adult care facilities and 7 homebound individuals were caroled to by Collide and adult volunteers. Our deacons also took the Lord’s Supper to our homebound • 350+ Finals Goodie bags were delivered to students at our local colleges and several new students have already come to the BSM • Dozens of jeans were donated to VISD for homeless and needy children. The Vine School’s children and teachers Tim Williams were blessed by a load of supplies Senior Pastor • Homeless folks were fed and cared for by volunteers on Thursday at Christ’s Kitchen and Perpetual Help Home • Over 70 teachers were given a Northside cup of encouragement at their schools . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . • A brave band of builders were on hand to face the cold at Habitat for Humanity • We gathered 350 pounds of food items The community was for VCAM at the Adult Choir’s presentation touched by your of Your Light has Come • The Police Stations, the Sheriff’s Office kindness on random and each Fire Station had goodies delivered acts of christmas day to them • Church members ministered to each . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . other on Northside2Northside Day • We gathered 35 bags of Hospice donations and held the annual Blue Christmas Service • The community was touched by your kindness on Random Acts of Christmas Day. There were also these things that happened during these Twelve Days: • Your donations through Texas Baptist Men will help more than 50 families in the Philippines have clean drinking water for over one year • 122 gifts were given to children in over 20 families through Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree and 4 Angel Tree children attended AWANA for the first time • The Barnabas Ministry of Northside donated a total $12,000 to 12 different ministries or charities going along with our efforts in the Twelve Days of Christmas • The Barnabas Ministry is also helping with the needs of two families who have suffered losses from house fires. As you come to our Christmas Breakfast on Sunday, Dec. 22, watch the TV monitors in the Fellowship Hall for a special video remembering these Twelve Days. We’ll sing the favorite songs of the season, hear the words of scripture, and see the glimmer of candles filling the room as we welcome Christ to the place He came to save. discipleship preview We will preview the upcoming Discipleship classes on January 5 at 6:00p in Bldg D. Mailed in checks postmarked in 2013 will also go towards the current year’s contributions. One sunday school group We will have combined Sunday School Groups on Sunday, December 29. The adults will meet in the Worship Center; Students will meet in the Student Center; 1st - 5th graders will meet in Bldg B; and Preschoolers will meet in A116 & A117. All will be at 9:30a.
