ANALYTICS
HELP
The home page. This is where all Forecast5
content is stored, visuals, queries, and
discussions, as well as where you can find
your saved content.
This link houses our Learning Center, where
you can access all of our helpful materials,
videos, and sign up for 5Sight training. You
also can send a high-alert question or
suggestion to customer support.
CREATE
This is where you would go to access our
query builder, which allows you to create
unique data tables using state public data.
PROFILE
WORKBOOKS
SEARCH
Where you can create, edit and access
personalized 5Sight workbooks, or folders,
to view and manage work from current
and past projects. It comes with some
pre-built intelligent workbooks such as
Budget Reviews, Negotiations Prep, Staffing
Analysis etc.
Allows you to search for 5Sight content by
name.
TOOLS
Links to access other Forecast5 products if
you have purchased them. Also where the
Upload File function is, if it has been
released for your state.
Allows you to view and edit your account
information.
GUIDE
An on-screen tutorial and walk-through that
will guide you through key navigation and
functionality.

The icons directly below the Utility Navigation bar give you the option to toggle the 5Sight content from a
Tile View to a List View.
In the center of the screen when on the grid view, you can access the content directly by clicking on any one
of the icons. Banners on the icons identify recently added or updated content. Clicking the plus button on the
bottom right corner of the icons will allow you to add that piece of content to a workbook.
Title
When you switch to the
List View, you get a list of
all the content in place of
icons. You can sort these
lists based on the column
information such as content
type, date updated, and title.

You can navigate to different types and levels of data on the Analytics page
using the left-hand navigation pane. The All button shows you all of the
content you have access to in 5Sight, sorted alphabetically. The My Analytics
button will show you all of the content that you have saved.
The next set of icons below those two allow you to select the level of data you
want to view: National, State, Survey, and Local.
The icons on the bottom separate the data into Categories for quick reference.
The categories are dependent upon the data level (National, State, Survey, and
Local) that you choose (*Note – In this example Illinois is shown. When you log
in, your state will appear as an icon). Selecting a category will automatically
update the center of the screen with content that belongs to that category.

The Create page takes you to our query
builder and allows you to query our
database, where the state report data is
stored, in order to create your own data
tables. Navigating here will give you a
list of data sets that you can query from,
and table options.

Clicking on a state data set will open
up a list of categories that separate the
data out. Next to the category names is a
quick description of the data within that
category and the data source it is being
pulled from so that you can find and
access what you need quickly.

Contains select data from Illinois School Report Card at the District level
Achievement - School
Contains select data from Illinois School Report Card at the School level
Balance Sheet
Balance Sheet account balances from AFRs
District Summary
Contains a cross-section of data from other cubes to allow for peer comparisons
Enrollment Demographics
Fall Housing Count demographic (race, low income, etc.) data by building
Enrollment by Grade
Fall Housing Count demographic (race, low income, etc.) data by building
Expenditures
Expenditure account balances from AFRs and Budgets
Revenues
Revenue account balances from AFRs and Budgets

Contains individual certified staff salary data from Teacher Service Record

OPEN
ERASE
This will open a window with a list of all of the queries
pre-built by Forecast5 you have access to, as well as any
queries you have run and saved.
Clears the query builder and starts you from the beginning
NEW
Opens a new tab to create a brand new query
RUN
This button runs your query and pulls your table together
after you have built it out
AUTO
SWAP
Swaps the filters and measures in your Columns with the
Rows
FILTERS
Where you can apply filters to your query to specify your
results
CSV
Clicking this button will turn on automatic updates that
run your query every time you change a filter or measure
Downloads the query into an Excel CSV file exactly as it
is built in the screen
SAVE
SHARE
Saves your query in your account
Allows you to share a query in a 5Share group
SAVE AS
PEERS
Gives you a window to enter a name and
description for the query to save as
Allows you to add, edit or delete peer groups frequently
used when creating queries
On the far right side at the top of the screen are two Arrow buttons.
The button on the left will hide the data bar on the left side of the screen.
The second button will hide the Columns, Rows, and Filters section.
WORKBOOKS
On the workbooks page, the left-hand navigation pane gives you a list of all the workbooks you have
access to in your account, whether we have pre-built them for you, or ones you have created. The Add +
and Remove – buttons allow you to create a new Workbook, or delete an existing one. Clicking on a
workbook will refresh the center of the screen to show you all of the content, including sub-folders, in that
workbook. On each icon there is now a + and – button so that you can add the content piece to another
workbook, or remove it from that workbook.
