Scout Center Common Areas
Beautiful c.1928 City Hall restored by the Brea Lions Club and preserved and
operated by the Brea Lions Scout Center Foundation
The Scout Center is located at 401 S. Brea Blvd. one block south of Imperial Highway at the
corner of Date St. in City Hall Park. It features ample parking and handicap access.
The entry preserves the building’s distinctive architectural features while recognizing the
achievements of the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts who regularly use the facility for their meetings.
Room A/B
Our largest room holds 86 for dining or 165 for assembly (approx. 1375 sq. ft.). Photos show
the room facing west (photo 1) and east towards Brea Blvd. (photo 2). Storm windows reduce
street noise and improve climate control. Sixty inch round or six foot rectangular tables and
folding chairs are available for use in any room at no additional charge.
Room C
This room has a capacity of 66 for dining or 125 for assembly (approx. 1050 sq. ft.). The photo
shows the room facing south from the hallway entrance and towards the park to the south and
west of the building. The exit doorway opens to a combination stairs and handicap ramp. The
interior doorway connects this room to Room D.
Room D
This room, also known as the conference room, contains a conference table which can easily
accommodate 10 or more (approx. 480 sq. ft.). It also contains a white board and the Brea Lions
video stand which is available to use without charge. The rated capacity of the room is 34 for
dining/conference and 65 for assembly although the large table limits the actual capacity to 34.
Storm windows have been installed in this room to minimize outside noise.
Room E
This room is located on the upper level and provides a quiet atmosphere for meetings. It is
slightly larger than Room D but has a lower ceiling and no large table. The rated capacity for the
room is 46 for dining/conference or 85 for assembly. The upper photo is looking south towards
the stairs. The lower photo is facing north showing access to the outside stairs.
Room BR
Room BR (for Banquet Room) is on the parking lot level and is adjacent to the kitchen (through
the glass door to the left of the trash container). It has a hard floor for ease of clean-up and its
own closet for tables and chairs to minimize transporting these items up and down stairs. The
rated capacities for the Banquet Room are 70 for dining/conference or 151 for assembly (approx.
1320 sq. ft.). Shown in this photo is one of several portable white boards which are available (or
removable) from Rooms C, E or BR depending on the renter’s needs.
Room K
This warming kitchen is perfect for caterers or other large parties to temporarily store and
prepare their food. It features a commercial sink and stainless steel prep tables, as well as two
microwaves, coffee pot, an upright freezer, kitchen stove and refrigerator/freezer. It is used on a
shared basis by anyone using the facility unless it is reserved with the rental.
Room CR
The Craft Room is an unfinished partial basement (approx. 1300 sq. ft.) which is provided as an
area where kids can be kids. It contains some storage, older tables, chairs and indoor/outdoor
carpeting. It is not climate controlled. This room is available for rent but is not actively rented
but provided primarily for Scout craft use.
